no
play dancerush or better yet, go for a run ya fatass

>run
is boring.

Very. Especially if you play barless. Although you need to get good before it becomes decent exercise, at least around 6-7 difficulty.

Keep in mind that you WILL destroy your ankles if you go too hard. Or are over 300lbs.

you're not going fast or long enough.

Yes but not on soft mat that slips all over the fucking place

Bar ends up burning more. You'll be playing more intense songs

Spend the extra for a metal pad, you can get a good one for around $200.00. The difference is night and day.

>running is boring
>have you tried running more?

yeah you're not exhausting yourself.

>rival fucking kills the mc
games for this feel??

I disagree, you can hit almost as fast without the bar if you can keep your balance. Keeping your balance uses more muscles in your torso which helps you get a more thorough workout.

It might be, depending on your circumstances.
I definitely get sweaty playing, but I never get aches, even after playing for over an hour. For comparison, when I go for a run with more athletic friends, I have aches for days.
If you don't enjoy or partake in other forms of exercises, it will definitely be good for you. In my case, it made me care about my stamina, to the point where I actually started running semi-regularly.
Running on its own is pointless. You might as well end yourself and reroll as an ostrich or leopard. On the other hand, running in order to clear a remix of your favorite Touhou, is peak human. I don't think you are an ostrich, user, so why do you really run, and would that reason transfer to OP as well?
You can start with a $20 soft pad and see if you like it. You're not gonna clear difficult songs straight away, anyway, so it won't make much of a difference for the first month or so. Then get a Polish pad for ~$200.
My arms also get tired when I play with bar. Not sure if this means I'm doing something wrong or if this is normal, but I sometimes even play barless during less intense sections of long stamina songs since I need to rest my arms.

You will use it once and never touch it again.

terrible running form

but...it's the opposite.

This is a good reason to start with a softpad before you go all in and get a hundred dollar dance pad.
Does it ever work to spend money on something to motivate you, if you have no internal motivation?

>you can hit almost as fast without the bar

yeah you just cant

Which anime is this?

>My arms also get tired when I play with bar. Not sure if this means I'm doing something wrong

no its normal. You're supporting your body with your arms, its hard work. I play about 90% with the bar and take breaks with no bar play to keep up my heart rate

Rocky Joe

I used to play the shit out of DDR Extreme 2 on PS2. Is there some way I can play the mission mode on PC? I know DDR A can be played on PC and has some songs from EX2 but I had a lot of fun unlocking all the secret missions and playlist challenges and such.

kek, might be true. Bought a nice L-tek pad and used it everyday for about a week and a half. Burned like 5 pounds. Havent used it for about a month. Really need to get back into it

I was doing pretty good with my copy of Pump It Up on PS2
Then my memory card died and I lost all of my progress.

Anyone know of any good songs/packs to practice footswitches? I can usually get an A on difficulty 10 songs on the ITG scale, but footswitches really mess me up, so I guess I'm looking for something like a 9 in difficulty.

I've got the polish pad too and it's fucking based

You're terrible.

we literally can't go outside and run. there's a pandemic going on.

Are you retarded?

I bet you wish you had guns now that your government is stepping all over your freedoms.

you're not supposed to run that long. not natural.

Are you?

They aren't forcing me to stay inside, I just don't want to literally die.

How well is Stepmania supported nowadays? I could nab another Ignition pad and go at it some more.

I'm sure he already stockpiled a huge cache full of them years ago.

Yes.

>Not sure if this means I'm doing something wrong or if this is normal
100% normal, especially if you're playing longer sessions or grinding twisty charts. A top player once said something along the lines of DDR being 25% posture/form, 25% legs, 50% arms.

You can go out for a run you dumb fucking neet

Unless you live somewhere extremely densely populated, you're not likely to catch COVID while being out running.
Remember, the R-number is about 4, meaning that people mostly transmit it to their nearest friends and family. IIRC, there was a study showing that even sitting next to someone infected on a train for 5h only gave you a
