this OP, it was a game for children they never expected a bunch of autistic adults to become a main part of the audience, and when they did, they started adding all this complicated bullshit like IV training or whatever which ruined the games by the way

They'd have to revamp many of the features in the games then, because "harder = even more boring" in pokemon.

Theres no need to grind mate, just make it logical, I think pokemon yellow (without well, a fucking nidoqueen/nidoking) its difficult enough, but intituitive too. For example, when you began you usually have to fight rock, rock its literally a gym leader with 2 pokemons onix and the other rock. (Im bad at names). Usually the counter is your first pokemon, Squirtle or Bulbasaur. But what happen when you have the fucking Charmander or Pikachu (By the way Pikachu is FUCKING WEAK MEN you can replace it by anything, fuck the anime) but what usually happened? Well, you have ratattas and pidgys, plus some worms, BUT at the left side in the way to the league, there theres a chance of spawning Mankeys, and what mankeys learn? Fight attacks. And same with the worms you could get absorb if you grind them a little, they usually had nice attack, but goodluck not dying to rock attack (because he fly you know) anyways more well thought champions, random encounters pokemons and shit, they decided to cut off on sword and shield just for the sake of it, not because they wanted to do it well. Anyways fuck competitive scene

Pokemon is a game which could actually benefit from difficulty options. Just let players choose the "I've played pokemon before" option to skip all of the tutorials for non-novel features and give all NPC trainers 6 mons.
Of course it would take more effort than doing the bare minimum, so it won't ever happen.

Isn't the canonical reason that Gym Leaders actually do have teams of six like in the World Tournament but they have to use smaller teams for gym challenges?

IV and EV existed since gen 1 user, that's part of the game itself not a feature they decided to implement to make the game "harder". What they did was the opposite: they made it easier for brainlets to do that stuff (e.g. they added new features to directly and easily train your team and clearly check their IV and EV at any moment). Gen 1 autists where the real OG, nowadays there is no fun in doing that stuff anymore because they made it too easy.
