what ending did you first get?

my 2019 GOTY, maybe even my GOTG

What happens if you do a playthrough were you just sleep and eat?

I'd imagine the same shit that happens in the prologue

bump

>what ending did you first get?
I took the deal so there's that

what happens? I didn't do that

You won't have any death penalties anymore but forfeit day 11 and all endings. Games ends after the 10th day

The problem with the game is the "ending", that is to say, the choice you make just before it. It's too... powerful of a choice considering all the choices you had to make along the way.

The endings themselves are quite beautiful and quite well done. I love them both.

That being said, the first one was the "nocturnal" one because I felt more kinship with the steppe than the city, even though their collectivist bullshit somewhat bothered me.

would he agree with Ted Kaczynski?

Can't wait for the Bachelor's scenario so I can order the Army to flatten the Abattoir and dab on all the salty Kin.

I felt kinship with them, too, but the hivemind or bust thing let me know the Wasp needed to be leveled.
I wonder if the Bachelor will focus more on the Cathedral or something this time. I'm excited to see where his route goes.

That being said, a quick update here... the other one is better. They both make sense from the perspective of Artemy and all he learns in the game but the nocturnal one is more to do with him resigning himself to his inheritance where as the other one is him bringing in a new world.

So the diurnal ending plays better with Artemy's development as a character. From a person who hates kids to someone who does everything for them. He became once again part of the town he left so long ago. He developed a better understanding of the town and the world he lives in. It's all... much more hopeful. You've transitioned from a yagarchin to an emshen, not just a shaman (i forget the word).

I fully support the devs and all the games they've made, but I wussed out the second things got real, and haven't picked up the game since.

I keep it installed, knowing I'll come back to it when I'm stronger.

if the haruspex's campaign is anything to go by, they're definitely going to flip the script somehow.

I believe the word you're looking for his Menkhu

best ending is where you get to raise the kids with Lara. I love her

I really hope they address the thing incubating in the Polyhedron. I never got around to doing Clara's story in the first game so maybe they talk about it there, but it creeps me out.

Daylight ending.
P2 actually has only two endings, not counting screwing yourself over by taking The Deal.

While it does not feel like it, Pathologic 2 is probably the easiest game that IPL ever made. I recently started replaying The Void and realized just how much more cruel and sadistic it is compared to P2.

I thought that was basically a methaphor for the disease.

You know... because the polyhedron is responsible for the outbreak because the spike pierced the earth too deep.

>if the haruspex's campaign is anything to go by, they're definitely going to flip the script somehow.
They are completely changing the genre to begin with, Bachelor isn't supposed to be a survival game at all. So god knows what we are going to get.

>Bachelor isn't supposed to be a survival game at all
seriously? do you have a source for that? If thats true I really hope they're not planning on turning it into a walking simulator, because I'll unfortunately have to drop it then.

Actually, the polyhedron represents transhumanism / utopism. The incubation is supposed to represent the whole new "humanity" the Kains are hoping to create.

When you boil it down, P1/2 is a game about clash of three fundamental philosophies: Utopism (Kains, Bachelor, Polyhedron), Pragmatism (Artemy, the city itself, children), and Faith (Klara).

The polyhedron is the source of the infection, sure, but that is only a side-effect: a result of the utopist disturbing the natural order of things in their attempt to create something impossible (utopia literally means "Place that cannot be).

If you want to compare it to real world philosophies, Kains represent the same mindset that say, Marxist have: the belief that there is possibility to fundamentally change the nature of humanity, though at the price of a major sacrifice. The incubating baby is supposed to be this new humanity they aim to create.

Artemy, on the other hand, believs that to be pipe dream, and that humans need to accept who they are now.

Same thing you'd expect if you make a deal with the devil.

I'm on Day 3 and the resource management is fucking brutal.

Maybe I just took it too literally, but in Haruspex's route the Bachelor thinks it captured Simon's soul and he's become like a god or something. It looked like it was sucking up the living blood and growing a gigantic new body to me.

it's supposed to be, don't worry. it isn't hard just for the sake of being hard

>seriously? do you have a source for that?
Unfortunately, I did not save the intervews in which they announced it. But I think even if IPL WANTED to make a walking sim, they would end up with a walking sim. We are talking about a company that has decided to make a light-hearted dating sim, and ended up with The FUCKING Void.
Whatever they are going to make, it's going to be insane one way or another.

With that said, it's all quite a far way away, as they are currently focusing on multiple smaller, mobile and tablet-focused projects. Bachelor is in the making (late this summer they announced the script for Bachelor is already complete), but is on the backburner. Meanwhile, Nikolay is focusing on his "project Franz", while two other smaller games are also in production by other team members.

For at least a bit, IPL has decided to change gears and become bit of a think-tank supporting smaller, mobile friendly experimental projects. P2 took a massive toll on the studio, and the reception, even if ultimately the game was a success in the long run, has made the studio very cautious and less optimisitic.

>what ending did you first get?
Late ending
I got a weird fucking glitch where i wasnt able to enter Lara's house or ANY house so i couldn't get the papers

The good one where the steppe niggers got fucked.

>I'm on Day 3 and the resource management is fucking brutal.
And it's going to get even worse from now on. Remember - never buy food in stone shops. Kids carry around a lot of dried fish, eggs and cheese, enough to carry you through most of the game. Instead, buy stuff you can use for trade: raisins and nuts are absolutely worth the cash, any regular food isn't. Trade with every kid you come across, see if they have something worth-while. Food is always worth the price when traded from children. Eggs in particular are quite filling and stack up really nicely, the best inventory-space to nutrition ratio in the game.

>The good one where the steppe niggers got fucked.
I'm pretty sure the steppe niggers get fucked in literally every ending. Maybe safe for the deal one.
Either you kill the heart of the steppe, or you trust Kains to completely transform humanity, either way the Kin are going the way of the Dodo.

how do they get fucked if you free them and spare the polyhedron? they're not infected, away from the city and mother boddho is alive and well. aspity loves you for it, and she's kin

He's assuming the Kain's project will be forcibly applied to the Kin.

I didn't really get the nocturnal ending

What's there not to get?
You let Mother Boddho remove the pest corroding the earth via the plague, the Kin return to town, some people embrace it, some don't
