I have high doubts that DMC6 will be as good or better than DMC1, 3 or 5, it'll probably suck worse than 2

ok thanks for posting

5 was garbage. 3 > 4 > 1 > 2 > 5

Jesus shut up. Dmc 6 will hopefully take the real criticism of not having enough costumes and shit.

they gave us coop bloody palace in switch 3SE so hopefully we get online coop in 6.

It’ll be the same shut and you fuckers will gobble it up.

Worst case scenario, it will be as good as 3.

Honestly, it surprises me how little the series has grown. People always talk about DMC as if it's the pinnacle of CUHRAZY action but the series definitely hasn't peaked yet. There's still so much it can improve on.

Yea the same amazing shit we have getting since 3? Yea. Sorry you suck at it.

What're examples that it can improve on?

We got a whole new fleshed character in 4, then 2 more in the special edition, style switching, another character in 5. You really don't gotta change much when the system is perfect.

More missions. 20 is such a shitty limit especially with multiple characters. Speaking of, more characters that feel entirely unique. Every character can be improved in multiple ways that is too long to type up in this post. More depth to attack hits since you pretty much just have launch, knockdown, knockback, and a hidden stun mechanic. DMC4 and DMCV have brought the most big changes but both games feel rushed and had developmental troubles, it doesn't feel like we've had a DMC that felt entirely complete since 3.

4 Nero was definitely not fleshed out, he feels like half a character. Lady and Trish were rushed to hell. Everyone hates V in 5. Dante, Nero, and Vergil are the only "real" characters as far as gameplay goes.

I didn't hate V, he was different. Nero felt fine to me in 4.

Honestly I want the sequel to have the good elements from DMC1, 2 and 3.

I am concerned at what a potentially Itsuno-less DMC could look like but a different take on the franchise would not be automatically bad if the director in question understands what makes DMC good. So it should be one of Itsuno's underlings who was intimately involved with the combat. Maybe that one guy who designed DMC5 Dante's moveset.

I really don't think we'll ever have another DMC2 situation. Capcom has made many retarded decisions over the years but even they know better than to do something like that now. And in all likelihood, even if Itsuno wasn't the director he'd still have a supervisory role.

DMC0 as Tony Redgrave, taking place in a central hub as you take missions from his clients.

What was good from 2?

For me I'd like to see more optional challenging content that pushes the mechanics to their limits, beyond just higher difficulties and Bloody Palace. Superbosses and the like. A proper boss rush would be nice as well.

I'd also like to see more of a focus on exploration. DMC was never about exploration (1 and 3 are much much worse than classic RE in terms of map design and structure) but I would like to see them try. You could still have the same combat but with more interesting level/map design and high-quality optional content. However I think in order to accomplish this you'd have to either throw out the mission structure or streamline it.

I really like V, a lot. He's a great change of pace. That being said, he's not worth playing outside of just beating the content, unlike the rest of the characters that you can put 100s of hours into mastering.

The Majin trigger, the goth atmosphere in some parts, the cool Dante outfit, Lucia, playable Trish and cheesey one liners.

Why do people pretend DMC5 is bad? Do people honestly miss backtracking through areas without any new enemies and doing shitty out of place platforming/puzzles

Why do people want exploration in a DMC game. Those are the worst parts about DMC1 and 3 and all the running around in 4 is just a chore.

They should have optional content but it should be actual challenge missions, not the gimmick-y secret missions but optional missions that give unique fights that might not fit into the main campaign or BP. Imagine a challenge mission where you fight Dante and Vergil at the same time for example.

No one who played it enough thinks that. No one who played it in general thinks that, although yes people do bitch about V but on higher difficulty and understanding his mechanics really makes him fun.

Nice strawman

Name the best parts in each DMC.

if dante kicks vergil ass like 3 and 5 will be.

Believe it or not there are action games with good exploration. You could absolutely have a game with the structure of Dark Souls or Sekiro but with DMC's combat (though instead of being globetrotting it could be in a more condensed space like a castle). Even something like RE2make would be a good blueprint. Or a metroidvania. Freeform exploration with no mission interruptions (ranks could either be per battle or per story act), some freedom in what order you choose bosses (with a few story bosses to divide each act), optional encounters, shortcuts, divinity statues acting as checkpoints, etc.

I'm not gonna defend the platforming/puzzles/etc in previous DMCs but there's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Just because it was done badly doesn't mean it can't be done well. DMC5 is a great game and people were happy to get a return to form after waiting 11 years, but if DMC6 has the exact same formula I don't think it will do as well. It would be good if they maintained (or refined) the quality of DMC5's combat while making improvements in other areas. Which is why I hope they make the game sooner rather than later so they can take advantage of DMC5's engine and not have to completely reinvent the wheel.

Where do faggots like you honestly get off? You watch a few youtube vids and think your a design expert now? You gonna tell me games age too??? All you're doing is creating a sad coping narrative for yourself.

Wow what a dogshit reply, sorry I thought you were actually interested in having a discussion. My mistake I guess.

Go get your upvotes from reddit cringelord.

Retarded newfaggots like you disgust me, you are why this board is so shit. Fuck off and kill yourself. No more replies.

Opening, Nelo, Jackpot.
Level and enemy design.
>2
Nothing really. Dante and Lucia look cool enough, that's about it. Dante's ending was actually pretty cool
>3
Don't even know where to begin. It's my favorite game of all time
>4
Just the depth and complexity of the combo mechanics, really. That and Credo fight. Don't really like anything outside of that.
>5
Much like 3, too many things to name.

Yeah, I know you can have good exploration AND action but DMC is an arcade game through and through and moving towards larger levels and exploration and even removing the mission structure entirely is taking away a part of DMCs identity. It can only be more harmful than anything. Your type of thinking is how video game franchises get ruined dude.

I'm not saying exploration bad durr but just that it isn't meant for DMC. The mission structure is perfect. Getting perfect ranks in missions is awesome. It's an arcade game and the levels only serve to set atmosphere, it's all about the action. That doesn't mean DMC should just be bloody palace, the minor exploration and walking elements serve as a cooldown along with again helping set atmosphere and tone, this is something DMC5 definitely fucks up with how bland most of the levels are and how much bigger the scale is compared to DMC1/4s islands and DMC3s tower.

Thank the lord for he must truly exist then.

I predict that DMC6 will be bland as hell and copy the worst parts from DMC5 and not improve combat, but worsen it, the cutscenes will be much blander as well as the story.

And what reason would you think that.

My gut feeling and seeing where the franchise going.

>and seeing where the franchise going.
???

I'm sorry did you play the games or do you want me to say everything for you?
