Which is better for Vidya?
4k or high refresh rate
Neither are necessary. 1080p/1440p at 60hz is all you need unless you're doing VR, then you need 90hz+
1440 144
tomgirl gf or mommy gf?
4K / 144Hz on Black Friday or after Christmas
Tomgirl, she'll tell you straight and won't smother you. You're a grown man with responsibility, find someone who gives you the respect you deserve
4k but I also do art
Tomboys are gay
Oh I'm tired and didn't see it said tomgirl. Whats the difference
tomboy but based
Im not buying any PC parts until there's a CPU/GPU combo that can run all games at 144 FPS @ 144hz @ 4K with Ray-tracing on max.
How many more years until this is possible?
Think the RTX 5080 will be able to this?
1000+ Nits / HDR?
This
4k if you can handle it. High refresh rates only matter for competitive shit so unless you care about that just get a 4k.
Talk to you in 15 years
I wish. I hopped on the 4k bandwagon too early, got a Dell P2715Q and it doesn't support HDR. It still works great though so I'm gonna buy a new one when 5k becomes a bit cheaper. Or wait for the Apple monitor to get cheaper since it's really good, just not worth that horrid price tag.
Do you want the game to have a better resolution or feel better to play? 4k is for graphics whores.
Are there many 4k movies out there now? Aside from video games what is improved with 4K?
this
High refresh by far. Once I went 120fps I never am going back. Irs just that good.
based
>60hz
cringe
4K 144Hz.
Unless you're a poorfag you should be aiming for 1440p 240hz or 4k 144hz.
Anything else is settling for less.
The 3090 can get over 100 FPS at 4K ultra settings today, no ghey tracing tho
it can run at 60 fps with ray tracing if you have DLSS turned on
TOMGIRL girlfriend? What's that.
Faster-paced games will benefit from a higher refresh rate. Slower, story-focused ones won't.
Keep in mind that Playstation consoles can't output 1440p, so if you plan to hook one up you'll need to either go 4K or be stuck with scaling from 1080p.
Outside of games, resolution means more usable space and sharper text; refresh rate means smoother scrolling.
Youre a poorfag
technically it depends on what kind of vidya you're playing
slow paced genres like strategy or sim benefit more from higher resolution, faster paced genres like shooters and racing tend to benefit more from high refresh rate
assuming you want to run games at max settings, 1080p/144Hz is a good baseline right now
if you bump up to 1440p you're probably going to have trouble hitting 144fps in many cases, even with a new 3080 or 6800XT
at 4K you'll do good to maintain 60fps
High refresh rate (provided you have the hardware to hit it). That's not just a graphical improvement, it's an improvement to how it controls and also cuts 10ms off your effective lag online.
black uniformity > refresh rate > resolution
but if you stick to a monitor (even a premium one) you are condemened to experience terrible blacks for the rest of your miserable life
Mommy gf cuz am not gay
