Can Dice/Battlefield ever recover? What are the chances they follow the trend of CoD with Cold War and make a Battlefield Vietnam that's basically Rising Storm 2 Vietnam but with Battlefield graphics?
Can Dice/Battlefield ever recover...
No. Battlefield is pretty much dead at this point. They’re now always trying to play catch up. Everyone is playing COD Warzone and every other battle royale pos at the moment. What are they going to do, make another one and release it into the oversaturated slot machine blind box purchase market?
Loot crates are dead user
If you told me like 8 years ago that CoD would win the rivalry i would laugh at your face
Their original offerings were solid normie games that were both fun and easy to play. Battlefield 3 is when BF went really mainstream because of console releases, was never really polished, and BF4, while tons of fun, was plagued by bugs and game breaking glitches from launch until years later. It never had a solid foothold in the mass market other than on PC with the earlier installments. CoD is bland but it’s stayed consistent from a business model standpoint
Wasn't COD always outselling BF though? Catering to consoles killed both of these series tough. I still remember the time when PC had the real version of the game, and consoles a shitty port.
it was a lot of fun watchng this out-of-control dumpster fire
hmmm
Dice are made of swedish people so its safe to say they are beyond hope. Sweden is like the San Fransisco of Europe.
heh
it's an edit?
The game was in such a rough shape that EA pulled the plug on nu-Battlefront 2 as well so they can call all hands on deck for a new Battlefield
Which fucking sucks, Battlefront was just getting interesting near the end, at least I can say that as someone who got it dirt cheap
nope, that actually happened
Nope, its real. They held a party making fun of customers while the sales were tanking. Thats how delusional Dice is these days.
>WHITE MEN! WHITE MEN! WHITE MEN!
jesus
genderfield 5 was hilarious
better than tortanic
Spoiler alert: I didn't buy it. I wouldn't buy it if it was $1
I didn't download it when it was free
CoD has normie appeal. It is made for the same crowd that buys Madden and/or FIFA every year
>franchise begins with a WW2 game
>no women, no stupid cosmetics, just WW2 factions, equipment and maps
>post-launch support is in the form of expansion packs
>17 years later
>release the second (mainline) WW2 game in your franchise
>nazi flags don't have a swastika, only a german empire flag
>you can play as a black female nazi, also you are a shitlord for not liking this
>you can use an STG-44 as a british soldier
>game is released deliberately unfinished so they can keep people playing with the "live service" meme
>microtransactions
This is what entropy looks like
Cod won the first time around too. First Call of Duty was a hollywood spectacle rail shooter which appealed to casuals way more than BF1942.
Thats what "replacing your original staff with diversity hires and faggots" looks like.
What the fuck am I reading
DICE LA is good but EA refuses to give them a BF
That reminds me of that Anthem launch party were they had chocolate with 55% of cacao or something like that, in reference of the metascore of the game.
This seems to be an EA thing
Slightly related, is the campaign for V as good as Battlefield 1's?
I know the multiplayer's fucked from playing the beta but I really liked BF1's campaign.
Attempted gaslighting.
Study it and remember it. That tactic will be sued against you eventually.
Note how dismissive he is at the end. Gaslighting didn't work, putting the other on the defense didn't work, he got backed into a corner and so shrugs it all off. "Just a trailer" "just a joke" "lol umad"
I wasn't only talking about sales. I was talking about graphics, animations, and overall quality of the game. CoD nowadays has better graphics than BF and that's insane lmao
I don't think Conquest or Rush is appealing as a main mode anymore. The maps keep getting bigger but it means more space between flags, and its all back capping on Conquest. Another BF problem has been game mode bloat. Even in unpopular games like BFV they have way too many modes and gimmick shit.
The Vietnam segments on COD Cold War were kino, i'd buy a BF if it was focused on that.
I dunno about that, Cold War was ugly and had pretty shit animations in comparison to Modern Warfare.
one of the few times reddit wasnt shit
Cold War was developed in like one year and in the middle of a pandemic. Yearly releases suck
At least that staircase challenge easter egg is fun.
But I don’t even understand what he was getting at. Why is he freaking out over a simple question that he is misconstruing?
Battlefield peaked with Bad Company 2 and has not produced a great BF title since.
>slow mo explosions
>kino
they're raping their games with that shit for over 10 years
bf 1 is best bf game
They already did though? The Vietnam expansion for Bad Company 2 was the most fun I’ve ever had with an FPS that shit was amazing. Do it again.
I thought BF1 was pretty high up there.
4 wasn't great but I still play it occasionally.
So what went wrong with V anyway? I never played it.
Battlefield One was fun as shit, I was surprised to see basically everyone shit on V
stay away from bf if you're so dumb you didn't even know the series has had games set in vietnam
This
>Battlefield 6 is not what fans of the series would like it to be, says reliable insider
So he could have an "example" of a toxic gamer he could glout about to his SJW friends.
People were upset about characters with prosthetic arms and some other wacky shit, I personally didn't care about that but what really got me a little pissed was medics were useless because everyone could revive their squadmates regardless of class.
>blacks were less than 10% of soldiers in every army (except maybe France) abd served mostly in non-combat roles
>blacks are more than a quarter of all soldiers in BF1
From a gameplay or story standpoint? If you meant story, it’s the usual embellishment to make things for interesting to play through but the campaigns apparently glaze over a lot of historical facts for the sake of writing their own versions, the one people hate the most was the one with the Norwegian woman waging a one-man guerilla Resistance on German forces while also thwarting their atomic weapons research and rescuing her mom from prison, when the actual operation was a daring raid conducted by multiple teams of Norwegian resistance troopers spending months trying to accomplish their mission, or so I’m told anyways
I just love the setting
It had DLCs not full games
>what really got me a little pissed was medics were useless because everyone could revive their squadmates regardless of class
Well that's enough to ruin the game for me. I always played Medic.
I'm talking about gameplay, who gives a shit about what color your character is?
BF3 was the last good BF
Funny thing is all they need to do is to make a Bad Company 2 again but with more maps, toys and vehicles to play with and people would be happy. But they wont. Because EA demands the game needs to be made in a year so that means smaller maps, less toys, less vehicles and game being released in unfinished state. And the SJW circlejerk the swede (which are all faggots) belong to demand they sabotage their own games to piss off their own audience. Just so they could act like theyre being brave heroes of social justice on Twitter. The franchise is sandwiched between a greedy publisher who cuts corners and developers who hate their own games and their own audience. BF5 was so ultra-woke that even Chubby Carlos couldnt excuse or deny it: youtu.be
>The Vietnam expansion for Bad Company 2 was the most fun I’ve ever had with an FPS that shit was amazing. Do it again.
Exactly my point, it was a expansion imagine if they made a full game focused on it plus 2020 graphics
