they say switch is doing good but when you compare the sales to other nintendo handhelds it pales in comparison
for example nintendo DS has sold 155m+ while switch is only at 65m
then when it comes to games it's just wii u ports, remember how much people cared for wii u games? yeah me neither but somehow on switch they're the best ever!!!!11
then let's not ignore that nintendo literally unified their platforms so it's both their handheld and home console solution meaning it brings together both of the userbases, channeling the sales to one unit
>they say switch is doing good but when you compare the sales to other nintendo handhelds it pales in comparison >for example nintendo DS has sold 155m+ while switch is only at 65m DS together with PS2 at 155m are the best selling consoles of all time. The Switch is on track to outsell the 3DS and the GBA by this year's end, and to outsell the GameBoy, which is the third best selling console of all time behind DS and PS2, in early 2022. By the end of its lifetime, the Switch could become the best-selling console of all time.
Xavier Mitchell
they're both reported under the same sales figures so no matter how much retarded shit you want to argue the figures are unified and it's their only platform for the entire gen and you just place on game cartridge in both devices
Blake Edwards
Switch costs almost 3x as much as the DS did you mongrel
Aiden Campbell
The Switch will likely reach around 140m, just a little short of the DS.
Grayson Thomas
imagine thinking the switch was a failure or something
nintendo DS price dropped to 130 bucks in 2005 and adjusted for inflation it's 173.3 bucks
Hunter Fisher
did you finish Demon's Souls already? woah, guess it's back to Zig Forums for u
Andrew Robinson
I never got a playstation 5 as it's literally sold out everywhere because it's literally confirmed to be the biggest console launch ever
Aaron Adams
Okay, how many units has it sold?
Levi Cooper
more than ps4 which is now the second biggest console launch
Ryan White
So PS5 has sold 100 million units already?
Christian Hernandez
>for example nintendo DS has sold 155m+ while switch is only at 65m >20 yo system sold more than 3 yo system!!! LAMO. You will probably 41% yourself when it sells more than Xbox/PS combined at the end of next gen.
no idea how they can sell more units than they have unless it's estimating preorders that will arrive halfway in 2021
Aiden Bennett
For anyone that's new to the subject, vgchartz is an infamously unreliable site that's not taken seriously by anyone in actual sales tracking. It's usual for their "reports" to contradict facts.
Christopher Rodriguez
You have to consider the failure of wii u , the failure of vita which showed a dying portable market, the big risk they took with a hybrid approach. What they did is nothing short of a moonshot. Obviously DS was much cheaper and had wayyy more games , but switch manages to compete in the current market inspite of not offering top of the line graphical and gameplay features.
Isaiah Campbell
Switch is significantly more expensive that previous Nintendo handhelds, not just the hardware but also the games and there is paid online to factor in. Add the fact that it looks more high tech and fragile than their older handhelds and you have less sales from parents with children. A demographic that historically represents Nintendo's biggest consumer base. Considering all that it's still very impressive the Switch is doing so well.
Jose Robinson
mario is the biggest walking simulator ever made it's also just a soulless mickey mouse tier abomination of a brand
Jace Walker
They need something fuckin big to put the sales even higher. Once BotW 2 comes out, Nintendo switches and possibly switch pro’s if that becomes a thing will literally be selling out in seconds, and unlike the PS5, won’t be because of artificial scarcity
Thomas Bell
>remember how much people cared for wii u games? yeah me neither
>for example nintendo DS has sold 155m+ while switch is only at 65m It's selling faster than DS. By this time in DS's life cycle it was already declining. Switch is going to have it's best year yet with 30 million consoles sold. Next year with better software lineup, a revision and a price cut could potenitally be even better. >so it's both their handheld and home console solution meaning it brings together both of the userbases, channeling the sales to one unit It also halves the cost of research and development for hardware and software, manufacturing and marketing. This year Switch alone will generate revenue rivaling that of Wii and DS combined.

>Switch is currently outselling everything else in the vidya market >trying to claim it's a failure kek
My feelings exactly, I can't believe poorfags get to gloat on this board Like what's so great about being poor
Tyler Peterson
remember when video games were just a funky way to have a little bit of fun? yeah me neither.
Jonathan Perry
>remember when you had fun watching cartoons >remember when amusement park rides were amusing >remember when five bucks was a million dollars to you yawn I remember
