Grim Dawn is good though.
path of exiles better and that's not a good thing.
its alright, just really slow, and the builds are really set in stone most of the time. plus gear is wack as fuck cuz i feel like i never get anything better than what i have for hours at a time, and thats including going through that shattered place or whatever
PoE will have a few events througout december, checkt it now if you haven't played it to get an idea of what to expect. F R E E mtx if you get to high levels within the events.

Grim Dawn is great you absolute pleb
how is it better? it's much more boring
Probably one of the worst buys in my life.
Can't refund it anymore because I told myself it might git gud later, 6 hours of self-hate in and it still isn't fun.
its alright, just really slow starting, and builds feel boring. plus, any class with pets sucks ass, i wanted the occultist to be a cool cthulu guy but i instead got hellhound summoner sim
Grim Dawn is such a GOOD fucking game.
nope
Diablo 3
try looking for some mods for it, some of them revamp it and change some skills around, or even add new classes. cant say they completely fix the game, but at least it wont be a money sink.
MODS
Titan quest
The Diablo clone genre is so small there's no reason to squabble about which one is better, just play them all.
Last Epoch
The only real part of GD that slows me down is trying to plan and optimize devotion points. Finish a constellation, see if the bonus points offset enough requirements to drop a lower-grade constellation, spend newly refunded points...
Any ARPGs flashy and polished like Diablo 3 but with more depth? GD and TQ were fun but felt old timey.
Honestly I can only play original FATE these days. Only game in which mechanical ability truly gets you by. You can dodge attacks and shit pretty consistently once you get the Slow spell. It's basic but I hate how overly complex ARPGs have turned into for no good reason since you're always overpowered in PoE, GD, Diablo, etc
I always wonder if people who bash this game start their first character with a rifle or ranged in general. It felt pretty bad the first time i played and i almost dropped it myself.
Personally i think melee is where the most fun is, lots more ways to go about killing stuff instead of holding shift and clicking on enemies before they get too close.
Ranged does get better and way more fun down the line but the first ~20 levels with just ranged combat is awful imo.
The kiting, low damage, and general tactics of playing keep away from everything to kill stuff IS pretty shit on a first character.
Personally i enjoy how they handled the game too compared to PoE. The campaign doesnt drag on nearly as long as PoEs and doesnt have weird gimmicky shit carrying over from old seasons you have to keep track of.
I like the D2 difficulty route more.
i started with the shaman cuz lightning barbarians are rad as hell, however i slowly began to realize that the second class i chose kinda sucked dick so i mainly focused on shaman. if the devs created somthing like this again and took away the clas combinations to flesh out single classes more i feel like i would like the game more. or maybe if they desined it with all classes being viable solo class, and then dual classing would feel better maybe.
i just hate how slow progression is and how little gear thats an improvement drops. im all for keeping one item around for a while, but whn i have the same set for upwards of three hours is when i start to feel the burnout
>Builds are really set in stone
Why bother making this thread if you're going to have it be so obvious you have no idea what youre talking about?
I just want another ARPG with decent animations. As is it's either Diablo 2 or Diablo 3 and then a giant powergap of quality that eventually reveals PoE.
Are POE players so bored with their game they have to make threads like this?
i played it for a while, its just tha if you dont have a preset build going you kinda die. it makes most builds feel samey cuz its just maxing one move and all of the moves that support it.
i just wish each class felt better paired with eachother, cuz some classes really dont mesh well with others, so it creates a sort of class build you have to choose or you have no fun
Grim dawn is alright but it looks like dogshit. If you want something a bit differetn try Inquisitor Martyr
>If you dont plan your build out in an arpg it doesnt go well
Wow what a shocker
I really like the story. It certainly has nice vibes going for it, but i stopped playing it when performance for some reason was tanking very much and i really hate the gear threadmill/lootfest of any kind.
I don't recall but I played something like a gun mage, my main dps came from a spell that's literally just a curse dps thing. I'd just right click it onto a group of mobs and that's it and they'd just die a second later.
The visuals are really shit imo, at least with poe if i click and it deletes the entire room there's some eye candy going on.
I was sold on the fact that you could build anything you want in the game.
That doesnt mean you can throw points around randomly and expect to do just as well. GD has a ton of build freedom and options compared to other ARPGs.
>PoE
Gave up on the forst week of Heaist league, much like a few previous ones. That game is so unoptimised, feature-bloated, grindy (worse than a korean mmo) and metafagged that it take absolute autists to play it for longer than a few days. And then there is trading that is absolutely atrocious.
I mixed my lightning fella with elementalist or whatever its called. Passively striking demons and dead fucks with lightning bolts wherever i walk is fucking great. And the starpact ultimate really juices those bolts along with everything else.
But yeah on some characters ive not chosen a second class for them since they dont mesh well with the build i have in mind.
Part of the fun for me is finding new gear on one character and building a new character that gear.
You might wanna try out the crucible if you have it. Its much faster for getting different gear in my experience. Since you just slaughter waves of shit in one room and you can cash out and loot a couple decent chests.
And the chests get better the farther you get.
I dont think crate is making another arpg for awhile though, thought i read or heard somewhere that they were working on a colony sim or city builder or something along those lines.
Did you get weird stuttering or something like that?
i just wanna fly by the seat of my pants when i play games man, i dont wanna slave away at my keyboard searching for viable builds. thats suoer boring and i fel like im not doing anything other than just killing to hit predetermined marks that i have no control over if i want to have fun actually playing
PSO2
Something like that. It ran really badly.
