To git gud. Lots of games use difficulty and ranks as an incentive to learn the game's mechanics and get better at using them.
But if you're satisfied after beating the game on easy with straight D ranks then good for you.

i imagine you're only doing red queen combo a and pressing shoot. you could indeed clear neros missions this way, but you have a problem. every time you complete your melee the smaller enemies are getting knocked away. and then you have to run up to them and do the combo again, repeating the cycle (because you're not using wire snatch). just adding in the ability to use high roller before the ender then allows you to get more damage than you otherwise would which is obviously beneficial separate from style.

then mission 1 introduces antenora at the end. he'll attack you with his anti-knockback/down charge every time you finish combo a. because you've limited yourself to one combo with a knockdown ender you're just going to have to parry his charge every time. you'd be served much better by canceling the combo pre knock back and launching the guy into the air. or you'd experiment and find combo d doesn't allow antenora to do his charge attack. all in all there are non-style reasons to use other moves too. they have their niches and uses.

The appeal is that you are encouraged to do more than what is necessary and take risks you don't need to to get better rankings, and you have so many options that you can choose to do this in any number of ways.

Some people laud Itsuno DMC as the peak of 3D Action when it's not really, if anything it's its own thing unlike the rest of the big names of the genre, although it's still high quality.

You don't need to play on DMD you fucking retard. If I have to play game 4 times to be challenged or have fun it's a shit game. Vanila game is just terrible. Level design is bad. Story is atrocious. Nothing makes sense. Characters are raped and they were shallow to begin with. Every time you have fun you get interupted with the worst 3d action fighting character V and his boring combat with button mashing. Also dante and V's theme is raping your ears.

I find Bayonetta easier than DMC, never got the meme about sandbag enemies or passive enemies.
Enemies being too slow/easy on normal difficulties is a problem almost every action game in the world has, but it exists for a reason, so you learn the core mechanics, your moves and moves of your enemies to prepare you for harder challenges which harder difficulties bring, the normal mode is basically tutorial mode almost every single time with these games

Doom Eternal let you switch between difficulty settings at any point, and its challenge/learning curve is way better by virtue of all content being spread out across one playthrough instead of having to replay the game two times on babby modes before you can get to the 'real' game
Master Levels featuring remixed and harder enemy placement for NG+ playthroughs independent of what difficulty setting you pick also theoretically makes up for the first handful of levels in the main campaign not being designed around your full kit (IF ID EVER GETS AROUND TO RELEASING THEM)

Doom Eternal doesn't relaly have any unique mechanics for you to leran like some action games do (Learning enemy moves, learning specific mechanics like dodge-offset, parrying) Doom Eternal while hard, it isn't something most advanced player have to learn as if you are good at FPS games you will be good at Doom Eternal.

Too bad from now on action games would have to have a billion animation cancels and juggles to be considered good.
