Just finished Saint's Row 1 for the first time, lack of checkpoints (lots of bullshit missions you get randomly car exploded are really bad) bad framerate and map loadings really plague this game but it's still good also the map feels bigger than both second and third game for some reason, I just think it's bullshit that Julius betrays Playa for no real reason
For me it's Saints Row 2>3>1>4

I hope so, the PC port is broken and unplayable in modern PC's and the PS3 version I played had terrible framerate, idk about the 360 version cause I didn't burn it, I just recently got a 360

A quick google and you see dozens of steam reviews and guides to trying to fix the game, none which ever fixed and are not worth the hassle

Yeah, I read a lot of horror stories. So when I bought it for my laptop, I thought "This probably won't run but whatever". Yet it ran alright.
Years later I finally made my own PC and thought, "This probably can't run SR2". But aside from random crashes it runs fine to this day. Still can't wait for the patch though, shilling it to friends will be much easier.
Mike Watson, one of two people working on fixing the PC port and porting the 360 DLC for free in their spare time while at volition software, got sick with the 'rona and more than likely hasn't been able to work on it much.
They got the source code for the game and like 5 devs started to work on it.
Last news was that one of the main devs got cancer stage 4 I think
Oh shit yeah completely forgot they were trying to fix the PC Version, damn I hope the dude gets well soon

Julius never wanted the saints to run the city, they were supposed to wipe out the other gangs and then drop their flags. Then Troy arrested him, and told him he could go free if he could convince Playa and Gat to quit, since Dex already took a job at Ultor. Julius didn't think Playa would drop his flags, so he had him killed. If anything, Playa betrays Julius in SR2.

I finished saints row 1 a couple months ago and started 2 last week. Been going slow because sometimes I'll crash when entering a vehicle and then I lose some save progress and quit . About 48% done
Have you really not played SR2? He literally tells you this directly. Unless you're a brainlet and never found the hidden mission.
Yeah It crashed alot for me too, I'm not sure if it's actually the game or the disc I burned, the more I played the game, more crashes and soft locks I found
I played without context from 1 two years ago so I kinda slept on it
I haven't had any soft locks just straight crash to desktop and it's always been when entering a vehicle. I've gotten in the habit of saving often
kind of taking a break because I was getting frustrated with insurance fraud

Yeah, San Andreas already had missions checkpoints in 2004, every mission that you get the max police or gang "heat" is completly cancer since they destroy any vehicles u are driving in less than 5 seconds
The sidemission grind feels alot worse, fuck stores closing its fucking annoying having to die to skip time, guns and cars are too fucking expensive and you barely receive money unless you grind a shiton of side missions
Also I had to look at the wiki because I never understood what happened to Hector, he dies in 1 shot in a sniper missions lmao

I mean at least 1 had some fun missions and still is a gangbanger game but 4 I was completely bored with every superhero shit, hate that vehicles are literally useless and so are most guns so I genuinely hate that game

There was a reason. The animators never finished a cutscene showing him running away from an apparent gunfight, so the writers decided he was was the one who betrayed you.

Would have been too expensive to call the mocap cast back in for this one animation, apparently, since it was the only one they didn't have.
What setup you guys wish a fifth game had?
I kinda wish a alternate universe Gat, Dex, Carlos, Lin, and Julius
But if at least Gat appeared even with a whole new crew it would still be cool
Also I think it's cooler climbing the ladder than being the boss from the start and maybe having new boss mechanics halfaway the game after you take over
