Actually it's a large scalper group where you have to pay a subscription fee to be allowed into said group and use their bots to get consoles. Scalpers are ineffecient for the free market. They do not add any value to the actual goods, and raise its cost for the end consumer

Someone who buys whole stocks of something (usually something limited edition or so new that there isn't much to go around) to heighten the demand and prevent people from buying it via "proper" channels and then resells it at a (usually ludicrously) inflated price to take advantage of people who are willing to pay ANYTHING to get it.

Basically the reason why there is a "One per customer" policy in some stores and Pre-orders.

It is worth noting that that shit can fail. The WiiU Launch had scalpers because they thought it was gonna be like with the Wii, no price for figuring out what happened, and there was one guy (or two brothers or something) who tried it with Hand Sanitizer when Corona started and got smacked down, there were also dudes doing it with toilet paper.
