fuck me that was a nostalgia trip, where was the cheating though?
I loved how the different cars hard their own personality/driving styles. Learner driver was utter shit and spent most of the race fucked up, The Master would spend most of his time out front and would avoid crashing, other's would purposely try and fuck you up etc. The races had a dynamic feel so you never knew how shit would go down exactly, could be a straight race or there could be a big pile up somewhere and it was as much because of the AI cars as the player.

Someone made a complete 1:1 recreatioin of DD2 in Dreams. SFX, music, voiceovers, driving physics, everything. Impressive as fuck.

What did they downgrade? Apart from general deformations from the original tech demo that ran like ass.
IMO the base game is still great. The main problem I have are the meme dlc cars but you can just ignore them.

The last build of NCG was still broken as fuck - the 8 month gap between build 6 and 7 where they broke EVERYTHING was bullshit and they stiffened up the physics far too much from that point onwards. Build 6 has the crazy soft body and cars could be bent in half.

I remember hating it at first because of the Sixaxis meme. Then I realised you could turn that off and steer normally, infinitely more enjoyable.
Pacific Rift was the peak, IMO. They should bring it back.
