Having just finished every game in the MCC, I am now authorized to give you the official ranking of Halo games:
2 > 1 > 3 >>> ODST >>>>>>>>>>>> 4
I have never played Halo 5 so it's out of this ranking.
If you disagree, you most likely suck dicks.

Odst is literally 3. Other than that I think your ranking is fair, but halo 3 will always be my true love.

Didnt you play Reach? Or did you just forget about it.

user, I think we all tried really hard to forget about Reach.

SHIT!
I'm a fucking retard. Reach would be between 1 and 3.

>didn't play Halo 5
I take it you're a pcfag

agreeable

Dunno it was the first Halo game I ever played, since I never played any before the MCC came out on PC. So maybe it's because it's my first Halo game but it wasn't too bad imo.

You're correct.

Interesting to see everyone agrees with 4 being crap. I'm rather disappointed. I've been enjoying the MCC very much and expected it to close with an awesome game. Instead I just finished this piece of crap Halo 4, and felt nothing but relief it was over. Everything about it is retarded. Shit weapons, shit enemies, boring levels, that stupid space ship level..

I think reach and 3 are tied personally. Reachs campaign plays ever so better.

>Reach would be between 1 and 3
yep, definitely a retard

2>3>1>Reach>ODST (too short)>>>>>>>>>>I am really disappointed with 4 desu

What is 5 like anyway? Is it just as shit as 4, and us PCfags aren't missing out on anything?

Well you can suck my dick buddy! Where do you think Reach should be then if you're so smart?

Story
2> 1> 3> Reach> ODST> 4

Gameplay
3> 1> 2> ODST> Reach>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Why Reach so low on gameplay? It feels very polished to me.

>1 above 3
Sorry pal, that's objectivly incorrect

4 is decent in comparison

they're pretty much all the same experience

Jesus Christ 5 must be like getting fucked in the ass with sand then.

>t. played only one game and now talking out of my ass

To me, they feel soulless in comparison to the original 3. Like a product of the shift of shooters from 2008-2011. The armor abilities also annoy me because it messes with the perfect pace of combat the others had. Just my take

Reach is better than 3 purely because 3 has the level cortana in. The reach campaign is better than 3s. But 3 has the more interesting story. Also the multiplayer, forge, theatre, hype. At the time it all came together so well, I have so many fond memories of 3.

whats the consensus on play order? just wondering if I should start with Halo 1 or Reach first.

1 has not aged well

count the number of copy-pasted rooms in some of the levels, it's fucking mind numbing

3>2=1>Reach=ODST>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I agree. It feels very cool, maybe due to story and soundtrack, but you can tell it's an old game especially in the level design.

I've played Reach first, then the OG trilogy an 4 (PCfag). It was kind of weird to go from Reach to CE (so old) and didn't understand a lot of things in Reach and their significance. So play it as they were originally released.

Campaign order
2>3>Reach>4>1>ODST

Halo CE was amazing when it was released, but it a lackluster compared to the sequels, has too much backtracking and asset reusage and the lighting is horrible in the original.

4 has good campaign, even though it messes up on some areas. ODST is decent but it's too short and the only great thing about it are the characters themselves.

Halo CE is the best starter game because it introduces you to only a few concepts of the Halo universe and has a much slower pace, allowing you to take things in more easily.
Reach is a good game to player after finishing Halo 3, as a prequel. Same with ODST.

don't get me wrong multiplayer is still a blast

playing through the campaign again though is a fucking slog at times

My ranking is:
>gameplay
2 > 3 > Reach > 1 > ODST > 4
>graphics/aesthetics
Reach > 3 > 4 > 1 (original) > 2 (remaster) > 1 (remaster) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2 (original)

1 is ultra comfy.
2 is retarded sometimes and the flow of the game is fucked up.
3 is comfy.
Reach is very fun
ODST is meh
4 is not an Halo game.

Oh yeah. That fucking library level, what the shit.
Not gonna lie, I haven't really touched multiplayer. Should I give it a shot? Do you know if there's a good amount of people playing MCC on PC?

You can play the best part of 5 on pc for free already

The remake fixes the lighting issues, but it alters the look of the game too much. It's still a great game considering that it was released in 2001. Compare it with other titles released around that time.

Halo 4 was the most ugliest halo game.

1 campaigns sucks

How so?

it did have a decent player base when i played a lot of it a couple months ago, not sure about now, people might be more interested in 2/3 or 4 since it came out recently.

it's a lot more stripped back and old school, not nearly as fast as something like quake, though. i liked it a lot because i used to play it a shit ton back in the day, i'd try it out if you hate flashy modern shooters with a bunch of abilities or whatever and just want something that requires raw skill.

I'm actually stunned at the numbers playing halo ce mp on mcc. Its a good laugh as long as there isn't an old school player who knows how to use the pistol.

how do i not die in ODST, its making me want to skip it

In terms of campaigns its
2>=3>1>ODST>Reach>>>>>>.
In multiplayer it's 3>5>=2>Reach>1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

This sounds fun, I'm gonna start going online to get raped by veterans. Thanks Anons.

What difficulty are you playing in?

Talking strictly campaign 5 is a fucking mess but the multiplayer seems to have its fans. If you get the chance try it but just don't bother with singleplayer

Plasma pistol to break Brute armor, carbine to execute them. AKA noob combo
Headshots instakill grunts and brutes on Legendary. Don't hit grunts when they have their backs turned to you, it's a waste of ammo.

2>3> odst=reach=1 > 4 > 5 as far as campaigns go. I know a lot of people hate reach multiplayer, but I really enjoy it. Reach > 3 > 1 = 2 = 5 > 4 for me

Attached: 1498181365477.gif (600x600, 1.96M)

Halo 5 has the best multiplayer. This is an objective fact. Don't bother trying to convince me otherwise.

Story
2>1>3>4>ODST>>Reach
Gameplay
3=5>2=2A>1>4>ODST>Reach
>inb4 ODST and 3 are the same
They are not. The gravity between the two are completely different and the way grenades are thrown in ODST fucking blow
Campaign levels
1>MC missions in H2>3>Arby missions in H2>4>>ODST>Reach
Multiplayer
3>5=2=2A>>Reach

>5
>a Halo game
Get better taste and play something better.

Played Forge but watched campaign on YT. My uneducated guess is that it has the more refined multiplayer and a great forge system, but the campaign and story is lukewarm. It's not bad, just not as interesting as the previous ones.
I sure hope Infinite isn't like that. Halo is a shit franchise without a good campaign and story.
