Kokichi >inconsistent character >revealed to be a pacifist, but masterminded the deaths of 2 people which he could have prevented, somehow this plan was part of his "no more deaths, end the killing game" goal >"he's a crazy psychopath... but actually he a sweet boy who wanted to help everyone and dindu nuffin ;(" >"DUDE LIES LMAO" gimmick run into the ground to not have to have him or his plans make any sense (he was at his best at the end of Chapter 4 and then went full retard) >his plan in Chapter 5 to end the killing game was flawed from the start and completely fucking retarded >final plan had shitty contrivances like "hey here's a dictionary I prepared for how to sound exactly like me *cough cough*"
BASED Nagito >insane, but has a singular goal: HOPE >uses his talent to great effect >does crazy unexpected shit and keeps the game interesting, but his actions always align with his goal instead of being purely andom >his final plan makes perfect sense, would've accomplished his goal and was downright airtight, not to mention that it utilized his talent and was the perfect culmination of his character
Don't understand how people like V3's store brand Nagito knockoff
This was the series peak. Whether or not you prefer certain elements of 1 or V3 over 2, you cannot deny this was absolute fucking kino. Even if the series gets pretty retarded at other points it was all worth it for this
>thread gets deleted because of rpfaggotry >make it again danganautists are pathetic
Cameron Taylor
>people thinking V3 had anything good when the ending was literally the writer telling his fans to fuck off
Leo Diaz
He was trying to minimize deaths >Chapter 2 Making people watch motive videos would cause them to understand each other and not kill, or know who to be weary of in a killing game At the end, he outs the ULTIMATE ASSASSIN in a KILLING game. >Chapter 3 Got Himiko to bottle up her emotions and just cry about her dead friends. >Chapter 4 Wanted to confirm that the game was being watched and that everyone will trust Shuichi wheater he gets the culprit right or not. Sacrificing Gonta proved the 2nd one. >Chapter 5 Plan would rely on Shuichi getting the culprit wrong on purpose in order to end the killing game. The master mind doesn't know the answer so they'll just accept what the Ultimate detective has to say. If the plan had worked the killing game would had ended due to the audience feeling betrayed by the trial being a fuck up.

I know this post is going to get dozens of replies and spark a several hour long argument, but I just feel like pointing out that this is obviously bait
Bentley Wood
Is this thread here because my kokichi thread from 10 minutes ago got canned? thanks user
Nolan Long
>He was trying to minimize deaths >less than 20% survival rate
Dominic Martin
How? I'm being serious, it's not bait.
Jayden Rogers
>obviously bait And yet its the belief of many retards.
Brody Lee
I was actually going to post this in that thread because I actually wanted to talk about VIDYA despite your OP being jannybait, but then it 404'd, and I didn't want to discard what I wrote
I liked Kokichi, but the end of Trial 5 was dumb as fuck. Not once did anyone bring up "we don't know if the poison killed him before the press did." His plan was great, it only failed because they abandoned it.
Eli Hill
Can we talk about the other thread where an user posted kokichi claiming he'd post porn and the mods fucking fell for it and killed the thread after being up for like 40 minutes with no rule breaking posts
Tyler Miller
Kokichi's paranoia and inability to just trust and be straightforward got him to cave to the killing game by getting 2 people killed when there were simpler solutions. He's not an inconsistent character, he just failed to uphold his values. You can tell he's being serious when literally every time he shows genuine emotions he immediately doubles down on his villain persona except when he gives the plan to Kaito. He felt intensely guilty, so he went particularly autistic at the end of 3-4

I actually like your analysis with the bit about >You can tell he's being serious when literally every time he shows genuine emotions he immediately doubles down on his villain persona except when he gives the plan to Kaito. He felt intensely guilty, so he went particularly autistic at the end of 3-4 but personally I think "caving to the killing game" is when you act on impulse like Mondo in 1-2. Kokichi planned out a whole elaborate murder and could've stopped at any time, that's not simply failing to uphold his values for a moment, that's full on premeditation. (It's also another reason I appreciate DR1 a lot because the characters not having autistically complex plans and simply being lashing out after being backed into a corner made the killing game feel more real, personal and immersive.)

Yes.
But also this.

The press can't crush living things.
Charles Perez
The safety on the press was disabled. Kokichi apparently ultimately died to the press and Kaito was voted the blackened. If the poison had killed him, Maki would have been the blackened. As Monokuma had no way of determining what the truth was, Kokichi's impossible trial plan would have worked had they span it like that.
Andrew Brooks
Oma put a lot of weight on the assumption that the mass public wouldn't think an ambiguous trial is an intentional twist
Jordan Howard
He didn't realize how stupid Danganronpa fans are
Logan Cox
That's one of the more underrated aspects of V3 in my opinion.
