yeah REmake is a serious dark horror game, the original RE was more like an action B-movie. Very different tone. Both good games though

if you have access to a crt DEFINITELY play the ps1 games. not just RE, all. silent hill, dino crisis, parasite eve (not exactly survival horror but whatever).
if you don't have access to an old display, emulating them is fine, so long as you adjust the image settings to as faithfully recreate a crt image as possible

False. Started with the very OG RE1 back in 1997, when the RE2 hype was at its peak.
I legit played the entire series in the release order, as the games kept popping out.
RE1 and 3 are just as timeless masterpieces as RE2.

someone said they started re2 remake (err... reimagining, whatever it is) with fixed cameras but then scrapped it. i presume they were using real time rendering and not pre-rendered background? does anyone have video or images of this shelved prototype?

How? Sure it was no ore action heavy but it also had the most mechanical depth and they effectively built the game around that. Plus it's got gorgeous areas rivaling even the first two.
