Is this game worth it if you're mostly playing with randos?

Randoms will never guarantee a 100% smooth run all the time but for the most part they are cool enough to behave as their class. Watching how competent some of them are and showing how competent you are is part of the game's experience.
You just have a tighter teamwork when playing with friends.

The community is alright, you will have a few matches where everyone else is new and learning and there will be matches where you get veteran players that carry the fuck out of the team. It's more fun with other people anyway. They have a drone for singleplayer.

DRG is legit the first co-op game where I can comfortably say that playing with total randos is fine. Fun times even.

Dunno if it's the game's overall design, the "lore", or some mix of both, but DRG just drives people to work together. Even the smellies greenhorn can instantly be credit to the team some way; collect gems, kill bugs, tag targets and objectives...
The fact that everyone in the team always gets 100% of the same loot and EXP helps. There's no competition of any sort, just a merry team of joyful dorfs.

Best part? You don't even need to use a mic to communicate effectively in the game! Just point & tag everything with the Laser Pointer, and occasionally throw a salute / yell for attention. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

>There's no competition of any sort
i see you haven't experienced the eternal battle between tcf drillers and all scouts

120 hours in and I'm starting to get burnt out on playing with randos.

probably the most chill community i've played with
i can't stand randoms in multiplayer games but they are fine here
i had less than 10 trolls in 250 hours

i mean that's good amount of fun

>gets mad when he almost causes a teamwipe during the fucking escape trying to do the event
>it was a double xp double modifier mission

>playing deep dive
>call in a resupply as me and another teammate are getting low on ammo
>place it near the objective so the other two can easily get ammo when they need it later
>"duude who called that resup in omg we are so gonna run out at this rate"
>400 nitra left in reserve, plenty more left to be mined in current stage and the one after it

>half the community has seen this video and they endlessly repeat the mushroom and gold nugget pings every time
I love it
My favorite thing is to ping maggots or swarmers that have been bugged by having the terrain removed beneath them so they're just floating in the air. had an entire aquarq mission where me and the gunner just endlessly pinged this one fucking swarmer that was floating by the minehead for the entire duration of the mission.

>x3 glyphid slammers/drunk haz5 scout snipers only
Holy SHIT I'm in on this

I kick un promoted dwarfs from haz4 missions and I will never stop.

Only "L4D clone" where playing with randoms is actually viable. In 400 hours I've met exactly TWO spergs and they were Russian buddies.

>haz4
lol haz4 is what you start with

Hazard 4 is basically normal difficulty. Funny that you are elitist about it

Lol. I started playing them since lvl10.

Nah that's 3. 4 is where you play when 3 is boring but you're a grown ass man with other shit to do outside kiting bullet sponge bugs for an hour+ in each 5 run.

Take a couple greenbeards without overclocks and maybe even filled out upgrade tiers egg hunting or dread killing and you won't wanna do it much more mate.

I have been playing with randoms for 200+ hours and had surprisingly little problems

I'm a transient to Zig Forums, thoughts on Iron Will? Like the new or like the old?
I liked the old, game was so bullshit sometimes, that it was the only thing to bullshit back, new one feels basically useless.

just got this game, is there a credit/exp bonus for finishing missions asap?

The new one helped me more often then not. You can time when you want to revive. So you can look in advance for red sugar or a nearby supply pod or people to revive.

Only insofar as you can play another mission asap.
Heightened Senses / Hover Boots masterrace to avoid going down in the first place is where it is at.

Still mandatory. With field medic and vampire you can get yourself and a teammate up and prevent a wipe.
