soul

2020 is actually SOULESS

stop posting this crap every fucking day.

Is that SHoC? I thought people played without sun shadows because the shadows in this game is extremely fucked??

>This picture was modded.
no

Because if there's no COLOUR how can zoomers spend $600 for EPIC new SKINS!?

first it was games from the 90s that looked """""""""soulful""""""
now it's games from the 2000s

in 5-6 years - "why did games from the 2010s look so SOULFUL?"

>LE EBIN SLAV SQUAT CHEEKY BREEKY VODKA XD

>Want to replay STALKER
>Remember underground/lab parts

>FthreeAR as an example of soul
now I've seen it all

just to clarify, early 2010s
around 2014 2015 TAA was suddenly fucking everywhere and everything looked dogshit

lead devs back then were mostly cool kids from 80 and 90, even having those nerds kids drawn all over their faces, they understand arts, went through rough and fun time.

lead devs and mostly devs nowdays are that one calm kids got bullied every day.. switch school every 5 months.. and probably start school shooting if he ain't so autistic about his coding..

also women starts involved a lot

The only good parts stop you from replaying the game?

Literally what? Everyone used to agree that the muddy brown filter that all unreal engine 3 games looked like shit. Lmao zoomers are unironically calling 7th gen graphics "soul"

Remember when we used to shit on halo.

what you're saying is pretty much true, i mean look at bad company 2 and compare that to BFV.
compare bioshock 1 to infinite
compare AC2 to origins/odyssey
compare dead space 1 to 3
my point is yeah i agree, but fear 3 is a bad example of "soulful", it was pretty shit.

>muddy brown filter
nigger what? games from then were the last to have good image quality and MSAA

2008 Zig Forums didn't realise how much worse things could get

Infinite looks good, its problems lie elsewhere.

Too spooky for me, user. Parts that annoy me are Yantar and Radar hallucinations, yellow screen, timer and whispers

I hope I can live long enough to see the Alpha generation be nostalgic about Fortnite.

this makes my pp go hard

Different mindset. Developers had this idea that every new game needed to push tech and hardware to greater heights. I personally found this annoying at the least and unreasonable at worst because it meant hardware updates out the ass.
But the stagnation is real. It's been so at least for a decade. Although today it's more in terms of design and ambition, keeping things familiar and safe. We only got the memes that are raytracing and retardedly high resolutions, which are an unnecessary blow to performance, but if games today were released with that earlier mindset, we'd also get something INTERESTING for it in return which just doesn't seem to happen anymore or very rarely and/or just peppered in.
Honestly only Death Stranding comes to mind with its take on traversal and that game didn't nearly go as far as I hoped for. Mostly everything is focused on looks, not interaction.

Their environmental graphics are still amazing. The textures just need to be higher resolution and you'd have trouble telling this shit's 10 years old

Yeah lmao brown&bloom was tossed around here all the time, and for good reason.
