>hyped for a dlc
Fuck, I need to finish first one. Such a great game
>”what a good game!”
>never even finished it
so these are the people praising this game...huh
I hope they fix that retarded map system and don't make the map so fucking huge with no save points nearby.
How far did you get into it? If you're less than 5 hours in, just quit. I finished it 32 hours in, and I thought about quitting at least thrice.
>I hope they fix that retarded map system
lmao they won't.
If they fix at least one of my gripes with it, it will be worth it.
- fast travel between save points
OR
- have actual landmarks (ie not make every room just littered with enemies and dark as fuck)
OR
- you can write on the map as you go
OR
- no need to find Cornifer to begin drawing the map
there is no new dev blogpost either.
>no need to find Cornifer to begin drawing the map
But that was one of the best things in the game.
Maybe they should just remove the mat all together. Thats what makes dark souls so good
The entire point is that actually travelling around the map requires effort until you unlock all the stag stations/have movement upgrades.
It makes the world feel larger, and is one of my favorite things about Hallownest.
This, or make it so you have to go to a single room to view the entire map, that would be sick
>best things
>95% of all players never found Cornifer in Fog Canyon
Indeed.
>until you unlock all the stag stations/have movement upgrades.
Travelling is a slog EVEN if you have all the stations and movement upgrades.
>fog canyon
you mean the area you spend about 5 minutes in and never go back?
>travelling is a slog
sounds like you're just bad at HK's movement, which is fine, managing 4 movement inputs is difficult for retards
>Maybe they should just remove the mat all together.
>Thats what makes dark souls so good
Dark Souls has very easy to notice landmarks and you have a sense of progression. HK has Room #320 that's dark as fuck with balloon enemies. Or was that Room #321?
I'm not dissing indie games in general, because older games had the same issue. Two games I remember that had the exact same issue are Rhapsody (PS1), where the dungeons are all virtually the same, just the color of the walls change. They even have samey rooms: one room for a left corner, of for a right, one for a cross-section... you can get lost pretty easily because of that. Another one is Tales of Innocence (I think) for the Nintendo DS. Samey dungeons, there's barely anything different between rooms.
>Dark Souls has very easy to notice landmarks and you have a sense of progression
Exactly like Hollow Knight does?
Are you blind/have the memory of a toddler?
In before the bottom 50% of Zig Forums gets filtered by the pogoing and decide they hate it
>you mean the area you spend about 5 minutes in and never go back?
Imagine trying to 100% it.
>sounds like you're just bad at HK's movement, which is fine, managing 4 movement inputs is difficult for retards
I've finished the game with 100%. And even so, HK is painfully slow. The maps are huge, and your character is fucking slow. Yes, you can just crystal jet through a lot of stuff, but that doesn't make it any less slow.
Imagine this: in the same time it takes to finish a single playthrough of HK, I can finish one playthrough of every GBA castlevania, both GBA Metroids and the PS1 Castlevania. It's like people already said in reviews: you're 5 hours in a Castlevania game, and you already have a lot of power and double jump. You're 5 hours in HK and you barely god wall jump. That is, if you didn't just pass it by and fought the 3 Mantis Lords without it.
Question. I just beat broken vessel and immediatly went for his dream twin. How much hp has this guy?! I have a basic nail, with one stock upgrade (no ore), and he just wont die.
>landmarks
>Hollow Knight
HEE FUCKING HAW
What landmark? Plant-looking enemy that fires explodey things? Crystal room with conveyor belts that go down instead of up? You wouldn't know what landmarks are even if they hit you in the face.
Even something as basic as Castlevania SOTN has easily memorized landmarks, like the first room of the library, the room where you fight Slogra and Gaibon.
The few landmarks that HK does have are all out-of-the-way stuff, like that tent at Kingdom's Edge or the Radiance Statue.
Broken Vessel: 525

Fuck. Hate this nigga
