what game?

Pathologic 1 and 2 are bad games, they are the definition of vapid pretentiousness coupled with mechanic incompetence
>hurr durr you were playing a game all along
wow so deep

They're all very highly rated by journalists on metacritic you sad fucking loser. Imagine being so pathetic you derive self worth from playing this normie crap

>bing bing wahoo!

They're journalists. They can't even beat a tutorial level

>dying from hunger after eating a slab of bread 3 hours ago
Pathologic 2 was shit bruh.

you got filtered by day 2 or what?

I don't get it either because Souls are the most normalfag shit out there now, literally so many people finish these games. The nameless King in DSIII has a completion rate of like 36%. Less people finish games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, the platinum trophy for a game like DSIII is 5%, and if you don't know what that means, that means EXTREMELY FUCKING HIGH when games like Rayman legends have a 0.1% success rate.

It's because people kept pushing the "dark souls is the hardest videogames ever!" narrative which made people think that beating a souls game was the ultimate challenge and some rite of passge to becomming good at videogames
But it worked, just look how popular it has become

Well hang on, the completion % is based on how many people own vs do the thing. Souls being the kind of series it is could easily be seeing a self selection effect. If most people who play it are playing it hard core, you'd expect higher completion of the harder trophies.

>listening to anything a games """journalist""" says
Lmao

>soulsian
SHUT THE FUCK UP RRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

People really completely miss the fucking point when they whine about the use of (admitedly a bit asinine) terminology like "Soulsian" or comparing the game to budget Skyrim.

Let me remind that the generally brilliant review of Pathologic 1 by Smith - the game that placed IPL on the world's radar at one point explains as "Oblivion with Cancer".
Also, the jounralist did not complain that the game is "Souls-like", he complained that it in fact, isn't ENOUGH like a Souls game - he is saying that the game may be trying to invoke similar sense of dread and discomfort, but not providing the player with the satisfying combat or tools to make it work or worth your while.

It may again be a bit cheap to rely on constant comparisons to already existing, and often relatively unrelated games, but it's also a completely common and widle accepted shorthand. Especially when it cames to games that are kind hard to put into existing genre box like IPL titles tend to be.

The review is legendarily bad - it was actually bad enough that RPS took it down - but for reasons completely different than you people seem to fucking think it was.

It's RPS's first attempt at review for Pathologic 2. It no longer exists, the site deleted it after a massive backlash.
And replaced it with even worse one.

So not true at all. Each Souls game has sold like 2-3 million copies only. And out of those like 5% actually beat the games, most people quit around the first boss if you look at achievement/trophy statistics on all the platforms.
There are just a lot of normies who watch Souls games but don't play them.

Filtered, the game wasn't even that hard on normal settings

literally 2 second google search proves you wrong

It's usually more like 15-20% of owners that finish a game, and that's any game, not just hard ones
Most people just lose interest fast

I couldn't get into Pathologic either but damn i can't believe i actually used to read RPS regularly

Lobos seems completely soulless now. Watching him play Genshin was like watching someone whos soul had been stolen by a voodoo mirror years ago. When he stared into the camera and said "and the best part is that the game is F2P!" as he had a full 5* team and $1000+ spent gave me chills.

It lacks any kind of modern day social takes therefore forces them to do their actual job rather than use it as a platform for soap boxing.

That's right big guy. You keep using those big words to make yourself sound smarter when wrongly critiquing a game because you're bad at it.

I haven't played Pathologic 2 in particular, but my main problem with hunger mechanics in most games is your characters tend to end up apparently having some kind of eating disorder and have to be chowing down on something every 5 minutes or they immediately start starving to death.

because they don't know how to play anything else than causal shit like candycrush
this is what happened when games became popular and industry "needed" for more journalists which were more normalfaggots friendly
results you can see everywhere

Stop making up bullshit.

Never played much of Pathologic 2 because it was borderline broken, ran like shit and made my PC catch on fire. I should give it another shot some time.

On PlayStation the completion %’s for souls seems to be 30-40%, depending on game it impossible to actually tell (since there’s multiple ending trophies and lots of players have more than one). The Platnium %’s are also absurdly high, especially when you factor in bulshit covenant items and needing to reach NG++.

read the whole post you mongoloid

Nah, he is actually right.
I haven't been checking with RPS (for obvious reasons) since the fucking shitstorm after the game was released. It seems they genuinely reshuffled things around again. Now the SECOND review is nowhere to be found, and the original is restored.

I don't know if that is worse or better, honestly. The second review I thought was genuinely even worse than the first one, because A) it completely hinged on Caldwel being furious he lost the game due to The Deal, and B) was obviously bitter and spiteful towards the game because Caldwel was already incredibly antagonized to both the game and it's fanbase due to backlash.

But then again going back to the original which was still hilariously bad seems not only not improving things, but kinda cowardly and dishonest tooo.

Anyway, thanks for correcting me. I was not, however, making up intentional bullshit. The review WAS taken down, and a different review put up for a while. They had apparently reversed the changes after I stopped visiting RPS for good.

>watching people play games online
The only souless person here is (You). Faggot

Probably just your hallucination. Anyway, I find nothing wrong with the review. It's a badly optimized russian slavjank piece of shit with awful combat and some absurd mechanics. It's got atmosphere, but its no stalker, it's just slavjank, nothing more. The reviewer praised the nonlinear gameplay, interesting story, great quests, and so on while criticizing the jankiness. Fair enough. I dont understand personally why its got so many rabid fans who antagonize any kind of criticism.
