Based. I just played my first Resident Evil game around Halloween. I started with RE2Make (only did Leon's side so far, gonna do Claire soon). After that I went through RE4 which I consider one of my favorite games now, and 100%ed it. I bought Resident Evil Remaster HD as soon as the Steam sale started and I'm hooked. Probably gonna get RE3Make and RE7 while they're still on sale too.

Noted. Seems like it'll be A LOT easier the second time around for me. I went in pretty much completely blind and did retarded shit like use Magnum ammo to stun Mr. X lmao. I also only used one save and got on the tram and missed the flamethrower and saved after. Didn't give me too much trouble though.

It's worth playing but new players should not be tricked into thinking it's a good entry-level game.
If you want to really get into classic Resident Evil start from the beginning. Release order, release order, release order. REmake is the LAST proper classic RE, not the first.

That's usually the thing with RE but still part of the fun, you struggle along for a first playthrough and become subsequently better at navigation. Make no mistake though, if you think you know item/storage box/event/enemy placement because you played Leon 1st run, "2nd" with either character will fuck you up.

it's not harder than RE3, Code Veronica or RE0 though imo. I would say anyone who has finished RE1 or RE2 is ready for REmake.

REmake and RE0 also have the most atrocious load times of any RE game ever. In RE0 doors open, you don't fully go through them and the animation freezes while a little loading icon appears and it can take up to 14 seconds EVERY TIME you go through a door. Fucking avoid.
