JRPGs are the most ambitious game genre story-wise

>JRPGs are the most ambitious game genre story-wise
>they have fantastic epical stories and premises not seen in other genres
>all of it is stuck in an archaic, static, boring format of NES tier turn-based combat

Fucking why

>they have fantastic epical stories and premises not seen in other genres
I guess, but they're all rip-offs of each other and ironically end up cliche as well. Only thing they have going is art.

because action RPGs are fucking retarded and not fun in any way

Go play Tales of Phantasia, nigger

>>all of it is stuck in an archaic, static, boring format of NES tier turn-based combat
A good variety of turn-based, real-time and action rpg combat exists.

>young teenager living in a peaceful village
>someone in town is missing their cat and you and childhood friend decide to venture to the nearby forest
>come back to the village
>evil empire soldiers have destroyed your village
>they were looking for a special child with a hidden power that can destroy them
Fucking JRPGs have terrible stories

the earth is flat though. you wouldn't think that those chinky eyed fuckers would even be able to see the curve, why are they still attempting to comfort to the globo homo?

Isn't it funny how like 90% of the "golden era" JRPGs plots' can be summarized as:
TECHNOLOGY BAD, NATURE/TRADITION GOOD.
Very unique and deep yes.

then play the remake dipshit
its soulful as fuck

>he says as our planet is increasingly sending death weather to kill us
maybe they were onto something

But why are you posting pics of a ARPG then?

Play any Xenoblade or "Tales of" game. All the fancy JRPG story without much of anything like NES/SNES era turn-based gameplay.

Oh look, another ADHD asshole who isn't satisfied unless he's tapping a button ever 1 millisecond.

That's why the JRPG I'm making can be summarize as
NATURE TRADITION GOOD TECHNOLOGY ALSO GOOD

>Want to play as an entire party.
>Action RPGs fucking suck at it.

>complains about turn-based
>posts an ARPG

Which games? Certainly none of the games I've played sends that message. So which games are you playing.

Maybe as an example of how it should be done

The combat in Seiken Densetsu 3 was poor. Perhaps it could be used as a general model. Perhaps it can be improved upon. But the game itself was very lacking in the combat department.

I'd say not even 10% of them are like that.
Maybe you should play more than FF7.

Just because you don't like something doesn't make it "archaic." Pokemon is archaic in how it handles its battle system, Persona 5 is not. It's all in how it's handled. Cover-based third-person shooters aren't all "archaic" just because Space Invaders predates Dragon Quest.

>action rpg
Show me 1 (ONE) ARPG with genuinely great combat.

>>all of it is stuck in an archaic, static, boring format of NES tier turn-based combat
>play a handful of games
>think you can judge the entire genre

Based retard. Your next incredibly stupid take is gonna be that every JRPG is about killing God.

>inb4 Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix on Critical Mode

>Play any Xenoblade
He doesn't want to play shit user.

imagine being THIS retard lol

Imagine thinking Zig Forums is one person, as well as not paying attention to ip count.

>inb4 a good action game
What do you want? Shit?

>don't like bad combat?
>you must have ADHD
The most smoothbrain take ever.

Are you Japanese?
