There is a boss on Lords of the Fallen that filtered a lot of people and the ranged gauntlet weapon is pretty much mandatory for it; that doesn't make it a good game.

No, what fucked them was trying to drag an action videogame series on tits alone past two games.
There are gorillons of games spamming all eras and platforms that tried the same stunt and only a few got one sequel at best; Senran was a zombie that was always a couple steps before total rot.

That would be the second 3ds game, the boss of the second stage (Yomi) was too difficult apparenlty, and they even had to patch it later.
I played the first version of the game and Yomi was indeed kind of bullshit (high damage plus the usual super armor), but nothing really impossible.
