What's the Zig Forumserdict?

what's the Zig Forumserdict?
I know everyone called it shit on launch but lately I've seen quite a few people praising it, especially on Zig Forums. Is it worth $10?

Get the sequel. It's so much better.

I love the first game, it nails the B-K feel, though it is fairly short. Totally worth a tenner

Impossible Layer is leagues above this one.

I liked it but I also liked the casino (which everybody says it's the worst) so I guess my opinion is not good. Yooka-Yayle feels more like banjo-kazooie than tooie does (which is why I hate tooie).

how can you hate b-k 2, jesus christ

Mediocre.
>but it's LITERALLY Banjo 3
It really isn't. It's more like a gimped Banjo-Tooie with less content and polish.

Impossible Lair is better; like a slightly less polished Tropical Freeze.

I enjoyed it.
Just played the second game for the first time over the past week or so.
Enjoyed that one too.

I had fun with it, but I stopped playing half way through for one reason or another.

A Hat in Time is WAYYYY better

It’s hot shit. If you want a 3D platformer, go for Hat in Time. This was the biggest sad disappointment I’ve ever faced in recent years

>I want more Banjo Kazooie
>get more Banjo Kazooie
>it's shit!!
People are retards.

It's fine, definitely worth 10 bucks if you're interested.
I agree, the sequel is a way better game, but it scratches a totally different itch.
This is also true, it's not very Banjo-Kazooie-like but it's filled with so much gameplay variety while never deviating from the core platforming controls.

It's like Banjo Kazooie 0.5
It feels worse.

too big, empty, tons of backtracking, having to do multiple quest/puzzles just for one jiggy, world are terribly designed and ugly (except for grunty industry),useless movesets, bosses are boring, mini-fames are shit, and there is too much talking.

apparently a hat in time has a discount. Have the patches fixed all the performance fuckery?

it plays like a worse banjo kazooie

what a load of bollocks

Banjo-Kazooie had levels with layouts that made sense, unique NPCs and enemies for each world, and a catchy soundtrack. Yooka-Laylee doesn't have any of those.

Y-L has levels that you actually explore all the nooks and crannys

I know. Tooie is a load of bollocks.

Sorry I don’t play lefty tranny reddit games

Yeah Hat runs fine now. On sale it's cheap, so might as well buy the DLC to squeeze some more out of the game

You talking about on Switch? It still runs at a noticeably low resolution and framerate, but the game controls fine and was totally enjoyable from beginning to end. It's the only console version of the game to have the DLC, so it has that going for it. Yooka-Laylee is the better port job, but the weaker game.

A hat in time is good but it feels really, really cheaply made. Ugly animations and models, clashing art styles, etc.

Where it excels as a game is its platforming which is precise and satisfying and the SOUL that was put into it. Still, I desperately wish all of the worlds were more like Mafia town, just a fairly large environment that’s fun to platform around.

It's decent after the updates. Nothing special. It's a 7/10 at best. Sequel is better, but the Impossible Lair is bullshit from beginning to end if you're not prepared.

>tfw playing my second run right now
Always been interested in trying out Yooka-Laylee but everyone hyped it down so much. Is it worth it somewhat?

Eh. I love 2D platformers and Tropical Freeze is easily in my top 3 of all time, but I found The Impossible Lair to be a pretty mediocre game.

Is Hat in Time still good on a second run? I kinda want to replay it with the new content.

Very. I first played it like 2-3 years ago, mind you.
