PC Gaming

Redpill me on Pc gaming. Why should I think about switching? What makes it better than my PS5? Give me actual reasons, no fanboy stuff either. I want to see why people switch

pc is missing features like quick resume

Cheaper games
Modding games
Can change hardware at will
Better overall value for money in long term

Mods. Free shit. Anime tits.

>U N L I M I T E D backwards compatibility

>potential for way better performance with upgradeable parts and more in-depth video settings
>mods

PC is missing a lot of stuff
>cheaper games
But you have to wait a ridiculous time for prices to drop. You also don’t have the option for physical, which you can resell your games
>Modding Games
Not a lot of games actually support modding. The ones that do fully are very few. Most are just cosmetic mods
>Can change hardware at will
Yeah, but it’s much more expensive. Too expensive
>Better overall value for money in long term
Be specific. That can mean anything. I can say:
>PlayStation is the king of gaming

I don't see why people even pick consoles anymore
On the long term you end up paying as much as that $1200 pc you could've gotten instead because of paid online + controllers + expensive exclusives
There's also crossplay so no reason to get a console if your friends have one, unless it's a nintendo

Alt Tab and being able to multiple monitors are better.

you're too stupid to use pc correctly
i don't want you on pc
stay in your line, console remedial

If the literal only thing you want is PS5 games, it isn't. Stick to your PS5.
If you want anything more than that:
>functionally infinite expandability/upgradeability - As much storage as you want, as much power as you can afford.
- Machine can do other things than play games.
- No paying twice to use your own internet.
- Use any fucking controllers you want, at most you'll only ever need a cheap adapter.
- Largest library ever - PC will play games all the way back to the early 80s if you want.
- 1000 consoles in one - think backwards compat is a big deal? Through emulators, PC is backwards compat with(almost. Did anyone ever do an ngage?) every previous generation of console and handheld, and other types of computer.
- Region locks? Pfff. Not only irrelevant, but you can make your PC into other regions as you please.
- Biggest con is just having to hold your sides from how fucking hard you're laughing at the desperate "b-but $2k! $3k! $5k! $quadjillion- k ow my ass, pc-senpai stop whipping me!" faggots.

>Can change hardware at will
Yeah, but it’s much more expensive. Too expensive

And buying a new playstation isn't expensive? That's like buying a lower-end gaming PC. The prices vary between components like everything else. You can build a computer with a couple hundred bucks budget all the way to 1000-10,000 bucks. You get what you pay for. Just admit that you're a casual who just wants a pre-built couch box that plays games for you without any thinking or effort on your part.

>Can use any controller you want, including PS5 controllers
>Can experiment with weird peripherals if you want
>Can mod your games if you want to
>Games are cheaper because they frequently go on sale
>Depending on your rig, you can get more visual fidelity at a higher resolution and framerate
>Don't get charged $60 a year to play video games online
>Emulation is a thing though this is less PC specific these days as retroarch is making its way to consoles I hear
>Never, ever restricted to a single generation of games, what is a half-assed backwards compatibility option on consoles is just a regular function on PC, you can play any game from any generation, no questions asked
>There is some fun freeware out there like The Dark Mod and Sector's Edge
>A good web browser is a few clicks away while on consoles you have to use a clunky and slow one
>Chatting with people is effortless, don't need to type slowly with a controller to message someone

>But you have to wait a ridiculous time for prices to drop. You also don’t have the option for physical, which you can resell your games
Most games will go on sale like 1 or 2 months after they release. You have lots of free shit to play in the meantime while you wait.
>Not a lot of games actually support modding. The ones that do fully are very few. Most are just cosmetic mods
The ones that do have enough content for them for this to not matter
>Yeah, but it’s much more expensive. Too expensive
You get what you pay for, and that is more quality
>Better overall value for money in long term
Not paying $60--No wait, $70 for video games all the time, not paying $60 a year for online, constant sales, free entertainment

If this isn't enough for you I don't mind if you stay on consoles, someone who can't see the benefits of PC is probably an idiot I don't want to play online with.

pc is for zoomers
once you become boomer console is the way

how come all console gamers over the age of 20 look and have the mentality of DSP?

is it the console that made them that way or is it their genetics that made them choose console?

how does she shoot

Boomer here, your backwards compatibility is garbage and I cannot mod doom and half life on a console

i meant boomers with lives not wizards

>But you have to wait a ridiculous time for prices to drop
Not really. Then again, console gamers feel the need to spend $1000 just to have a PS5 even when it only has Demon's Souls and the rest are PS4 games. So I can see why the concept of waiting is foreign to you.
>Not a lot of games actually support modding. The ones that do fully are very few. Most are just cosmetic mods
A lot of games support modding. Kiwami 2 even has a mod that restores the original music including Crazy Ken Band.
>Yeah, but it’s much more expensive. Too expensive
It's only expensive in proportion to what you want. If you're looking for 4k, then it'll be expensive. Otherwise, it really isn't.
>Be specific. That can mean anything.
The lack of having to pay an online subscription fee for one, and not having to pay $70 for games as Activision still prices their PC games at $60 while their PS5 games are $70.
>You also don’t have the option for physical
The difference between digital on PC and on consoles is that digital is viable on PC since torrents and cracked exe files exist, so there are counter measures in the event that a game is taken down on a digital storefront. Not every PS5 game is physical, and not every PS5 game will be physical. Once they're taken down from PSN they're gone.

>What makes it better than my PS5? Give me actual reasons
Not using two fucking sticks to aim and shoot, for one

>you're too stupid to use pc correctly
>i don't want you on pc
>stay in your line, console remedial

Attached: 8b4.jpg (720x671, 33.45K)

Technically speaking, the idea of having to "support" modding is a pretty console-centric one as it is.
PC gamers don't have to wait for the dev to support them. They can and do work out how to fuck with games as they want themselves.

>what is alt+tab?

True, and in the event that a game doesn't really have mods then either it isn't popular enough to warrant the effort or the isn't shir.

is that Bill?

Who the fuck needs 20 games open at the same time? Like seriously, I finish a game and I'm usually done playing and go browse this shithole or work. Quick reZOOM is a fucking meme that I wouldn't use even if I bought a PS5 or SeX

It all boils down to how much you’re willing to spend on this hobby you spend thousands of hours on

>Biggest library out of any platform, ever
>can be as cheap as you want or as extravagant depending on your budget
>Piracy
>Can use any controllers
>Mods
>highest performance ceiling

It sounds like you don't actually care about understanding why people switch to PC and instead just wanted to make consoles sound better.
Here is the biggest reason why I, and plenty of people I know, switch to PC: It's a computer. A console is a toy for videogames. A PC can play videogames *and* do literally anything else a computer can do. Work, business, creation, internet browsing, storage, etc. Hence why PC gaming is a good option for many - lots of people already have a PC for one of many reasons, so why not play games on it?
In response to what you said:
>But you have to wait a ridiculous time for prices to drop.
No, you don't. Sales come incredibly frequently, and Steam holds a mass sale several times a year. Sekiro is like 35 bucks now on PC. Not for me, but that's a fairly recent AAA title. As for physical, that's a downside for me personally. To be fair though, most media is going that way, including on consoles, which sucks.
>Not a lot of games actually support modding
Incorrect as well. On PC, you have access to the games files. You mess with those files, you're modding it. Those files are hidden behind the OS on consoles. Not everything is as in-depth as Skyrim, but that's because Skyrim is easy as fuck to mess with. Modding means everything from original content to coom shit.
>Yeah, but it's much more expensive.
No, it isn't. Prices for PC parts fluctuate just like everything else in every market on Earth. I built a PC in 2010 for 450. I've swapped out 2 parts (CPU and GPU) since then, circa 2015. This cost me around 300 bucks. I did this because I wanted to, but I could have kept playing 2010 era games for a long ass time. You have to research the products and prices, not just google and gawk at the top of the line shit.
>Be specific.
Hardware upgrades and sales (piracy and emulation too, if you're into that), minus any online service fees, will result in less payment over time.

Not him, btw.

console
>best games come out first
>comfy couch gaming on big screen TV
>can trade games
>psp+ is a great all-one-deal (~$3.50/MONTH)
>it just works
>affordable and streamlined vr
>dual shock and haptic feedback controller
>tight-knight community
>physical games

pc
>all console exclusives come out a while year+ later on pc
>add additional 6 months to a year for the games to get cracked(see Death Stranding, RDR2, etc)
>when games do get ported to pc they are released at a full price tag meanwhile console version can be had at 50-75% discounts by that time
>requires a table
>requires a $2000 office chair from herman miller (unless you want to end up getting back surgery down the line)
>requires a monitor that even at 1440p is tiny relative to even a 40" TV, and it can't even be used to watch shit from like movies with your family on a couch
>still needs a controller to play majority of games since they were designed for it
>no physical games, must install millions of launchers (Steam, Origin, Uplay, Battle.Net, EGS, Bethesda Launcher) to play games
>cancer 1-year exclusives introduced by EGS recently
>free online play with hacking russians and brazillians with 200+ms latency
>better graphix (make sure to install the latest drivers through)
>more fps (on low-medium settings)
>exclusive RTS, MMO, indies, MOBAs, BR, early access genres

t. pcfriend

>Quick reZOOM is a fucking meme
You already have that feature. It's just fucking Alt+Tab. It's new to console keks because they're too used to poor standards.

Yeah I'm just talking about switching between games. It's fucking retarded, who needs more than 1 game open at a time?

Honestly, if you actually bought PS5 you're a lost cause. We're not gonna be able to cure your mental illness, you're a consolenigger for life.

Exclusives

Console versions of games get crappy a couple years into the gen.

You need a PC anyway might as well spend a few hundred extra dollars to get a good one.

I swear you faggots can't be over the age of 20

These people are buying PS5s off of scalpers for thousands of dollars. Their impulse and self-control is comparable to drug addicts, so they would have a bunch of games opened up for no reason.

>requires a table
This is how easy it is to see you're being disingenuous. You can build a PC and plug it into a TV and use a controller, you fucking dipshit.

And you can't be over the age of 10 since your only response is a greentext Soijak.

>requires a table
Look at this casual

You have no idea how many tabs and programs open at once zoomers use at once. They never EVER switch back but they NEED to have it open so they CAN, POSSIBLY switch between things once their 0,1 second attention spam catches on something new.
