Nah, they were doglike in the first edition. Pretty sure Orcs were piglike as well. Japs just never got the other editions I guess. Had to make their own anime RPGs that work good for one-shot sessions because of their grueling work hours

Nah, they were sort of vague animalistic goblinoids. More ratlike than dogs. Again, mistranslation. Plus shitty art didn't help. Japan got later editions, but that bad translation (thanks to translations in the late 70's/early 80's) just sort of stuck and now that's what they look like.

A Dungeon Meshi game would be rad. Comfy Manga that would make for a neat game with cooking, trap solving and monster-fighting that might work better as a puzzle game than a straight action game. It has that neat, diceless "use your imagination," problem solving of old-school RPGs.
