Is this the longest demo ever? I'm 5 hours in and it just keeps going.
Dragon Quest XI S
Turn Stronger Monsters on and don't play past the second arc (credits roll).
Thank me later.
Its around 10 hours
I've waited to buy this game. Did not want to not have all the content. I liked the demo, but I don't have any expactations story-wise.
Beat it in 8 hours. Really excited to pick it up for ps4 when it drops
bump
Don't worry about the length, enjoy the journey of the longest demo you'll have played. I already finished it and then preordered the game. Had no idea it originally released in 2018.
>don't play past the second arc (credits roll).
Thank me later.
Without spoilers, why?
They don’t like where the story goes. Would be like saying “play metal gear solid V and stop playing right after chapter 2 ends”
*fuck, actually chapter 1 I think. Ah Fuck I fucked up my own analogy goddamn it
I only have an hour in the demo but I expected it to end the moment you climb down the mountain so I stopped.
He's a pleb, don't listen.
I am excited for you guys who are going to be playing it for the first time.
Dragon Quest xl is my favorite vidya of all time, and I play it every October. Once I get a series X I’m looking forward to playing it all over again, completing every quest.
The game has very likeable characters, the story is kind of generic but subverts quite a bit, and I love the battle system. Even crafting is satisfying.
It’s like 10 hours long op. The full game is about 80 hours.
II dumped 70 hours into it without doing the Post-Game content. The game had a few moments that dragged a bit, but they weren't common. Definitely some lovable characters, good moments, and lots of Dragon Questness. You know what you're going to get with these games. Solid RPG.
Any tips for first timers?
DQ isn't really the series to play for story. They have their nice story moments, but overall, they're nothing special. DQ is something you play for the old school gameplay and adventure.
Am I the only one who genuinely enjoys Part 3/Post game?
It's comfy doing all the generic JRPG stuff like grinding and searching out the top tier gear.
>Without spoilers, why?
The writing goes full retard and ruins act II. Even fucks up something from Act I, but it's minor in the grand scheme of things. As far as gameplay goes, you'll just be revisiting everywhere for the second time, fighting the same things again, but with green eyes this time and you're expected to start grinding, which is never necessary before then.
You've got nine hours to go.
probably the most boring game i've ever played, what exactly do people like about it?
Despite playing JRPGs for 25 years, I have never enjoyed grinding. The good thing about Act III though is that you can go from like, level 72 to 99 in 30 minutes if you know what you're doing. They changed it so that the Metal King Slimes don't drop Miracle Drops anymore but only the one person variant, so it ended up taking me longer than when I played the PS4 version, but you could buy all you need. Though either way you have to grind to the low 70s and grind money if you're going to just buy miracle drops, so traditional grinding still can't be avoided entirely.
Its probably the best demo ever.
I had zero interest in playing this game. But now...its much more fun than Pokemon
Veronica OP as Fuck,
Erik is shits out damage.
Sylvando is my Husbando.
Have your Hero start out with great swords. Focus Erik on knives and you want to get the moves that put an enemy to sleep and then do triple damage depending on whether the enemy is envenomed or asleep.
Everything you do can be undone, you are not locked into any set moves for any character and respeccing is almost nothing.
You can’t go wrong.
Grinding is almost never required. The only time I bother is at mordegons sky palace entrance. Do the metal slime level lining and in a few hours you’ll stomp everything.
How could Erik not be your husbando?
I beat 1-3, 5, and 8. Is the game too easy without stronger monsters? I could nuke my demo file and get back to where I am pretty fast.
erik only has good damage in act 2, he's pretty bad in act 1 or at least I thought so
Erik isn't fabulous darling.
I had better luck with the venom strike on eric but it takes more skill points to get.
It's heavily encouraged in Act III with the difficulty spike. Normal enemies are manageable, but bosses will kick your ass.
Hendrick is by far best husbando.
Only dumb fujos like Erik.
I remember getting Dragon quest 8 for the ps2 only cause angelo look like trunks, and jessica resembled videl to me. I had no idea about the series so I ended up dropping the game because it was too long and hard. Kid me was an idiot, I'm having a good time with DQXI right now, it's comfty.
just get magic burst and a bunch of elfin elixers from the casino
