Honestly, the only reason I'm humoring the idea is because Ridley and Eggman working together would be absolutely based.
And Ridley would probably be the best lackey for Eggman. He has all the bloodlust he needs to cause real shit but none of the personal motivation to actually lead so as long as Eggman doesn't do something retarded like betray him (which he probably will) Ridley would be a-okay with just wrecking shit and trying to ruin Sonic's life.

Ridley, despite being a murderous fuck, also still holds cohesive command over the Space Pirates, while the Space Pirates themselves are a combination of retarded space apes smashing pipes together and actual, considerable, Warhammer Fantasy Ratfag-tier insane in what shit they'll smash together.
Meanwhile you have Tails, a literal furry nerd-kid that geeks out over advanced tech, is potentially an orphan, and actually provides some usefulness in maintaining tech shit, while Samus is the literal "Space Paladin" of the galaxy who holds a soft-spot for orphans, kids, and furry animals, and will righteously shoot the shit out of any and all space pirates for what they did and have been doing all these years. Not to mention she's also versed in the maintenance of her suit, ship, and other technological items.
You could even throw in wild-ass shit like the X-Parasites or Phazon if you wanna go for a truly crazy-ass shonen-tier experience, and despite needing to have Sonic be the MC, you could potentially pull off some wild-ass Samus and Joey-tier shit with it

Not to mention the fact that in the Megamix Manga he literally tells light in an argument that they gave robots souls, and deserve to prove themselves as capable beings.
