Is there any reason at all to not have brand loyalty to steam? Its literally based as fuck, and everything is allowed on it. Doesn't matter if its right wing, if the game literally involves raping women, or its just a bunch of loli pics, steam doesn't censors.
Imagine if epic games was dominating, and the chinese could censor you.
However they’re based for their Linux development, steamworks and cloud saves.

>Doesn't matter if its right wing Didn't they banned a German right wing game?

If a company treats you right in the past you can feel safer trusting them with the future

I don't have any "loyalty" to a brand or corporation. I will continue to use their product as long as its fairly priced and works well Steam is both of those thing. I like Steam as a product, but Valve as a company? Meh, no strong feelings.

I got banned from posting and commenting for saying "fuck"

there is no good reason to have any sort of brand loyalty you swear fealty to the better deal, that's all there is to it they don't care about you and you shouldn't care about them either

>wojaks >console fag >probably a snoy or bing bing wahoo gtfo of my board zoomer
i guess my only loyalty to it is convenience and i like what they did with adding extensive controller support and other misc things. but if another client came along that did everything steam did and more i would use it, but that day has yet to come. i dont mind uplay but all i use it for is anno games.
Imagine just downloading game without having to go through any spyware platforms. Or just buying a CD and having that be enough? It was cancer when Valve forced us to install Steam to play HL2, and its still cancer today. The fact that most other stores are even more cancerous shouldn't inspire any loyalty.

Steam kinda sucks with the friend limit. I mean now I don’t have a problem but for a while since I first had steam the limit was limiting. I like steam but I’m not loyal to a brand. I trust a brand’s service since it’s done me good
Camden Myers
Only if it goes into illegal territory. But no, day of the rape didn't get censored, and its just a game of raping as many women you can. It still will come out on steam, except if illegal in your counrty.
Aaron Bailey
its the best place by far to buy and play games. so no
>Only if it goes into illegal territory. I don't think so. GOG sells some VNs that were banned from Steam. >Though the initial launch titles are limited to the Higurashi When They Cry series and fan favorite, eden*, we are working closely with GOG on bringing nine other titles to their platform, including the recently threatened Kindred Spirits on the Roof, which will be receiving a recently announced full-voice expansion, as well as A Kiss for the Petals ~Maidens of Michael~, which Valve removed from the Steam storefront in March 2018 without any warning or notice. blog.mangagamer.org/2018/05/22/mangagamer-brings-their-titles-to-gog/

No, I'm fully aware that we're basically renting access to the games in perpetuity. It's not the same as owning discs at all. However, I like the sales and have picked up a ton of games I wouldn't have played otherwise for literal pennies and I'm sure having these things have cut down on pollution massively. Still..

They are extremely arbitrary in how they apply their standards. This might be due to different employees screening the games at submission, and probably also due to differences in the amount of outrage that's generated on social media. It's not a 'neutral' platform at all.
