any KOF game with Iori because he's fucking hot

>any KOF game with Iori because he's fucking hot
I think you meant to say gay as fuck. Any Asian man who has red hair that covers one eye, wears a faggot choker, a strap that connects both his legs together, and holds a grudge against a literal high school teenager because of shit his ancestors did is not "hot". He's your typical edgy anti-hero character that was already a repetitive trope at the time the character was created. Iori is retarded and his design is objectively faggy and stupid looking.

Iori's got the best look, best themes and best characterization

Who is SNK's mascot? Google doesn't give me anything definitive.

Athena was their first game so Athena, probably.

My wife Iroha!

Real Bout Fatal Fury
It's one of these three
>Athena
>Terry
>Kyo

People say she was the mascot but I can never find evidence of that being true. I foudn legit information that points at Ukee being the mascot before Terry but never anything about Athena. She might have some promotional material but I never found anything that claimed she was SNK's mascot.

RBFF2 is peak SNK. It encompasses everything I love about 90s fighting games.
Colorful characters and backgrounds, great art direction and of course it's super fun to play.
Also best Mai.

K' has cool design and character background

Athena's is their first recognizable character (not the first game lol) so I guess people could've consider her a mascot before Fatal Fury was a thing, just not officially.
Nowadays though, it's obvious Terry is their main face.

>K' has cool design
said no one ever. He's a parody of the cliche "cool character" archetype. Sunglasses with a leather jacket and leather pants. He looks dumb as fuck. He's like a bootleg Wolfwood from Trigun except uncool.

So what is their best fighting games Zig Forums? I was never fortunate enough to ever own one of their expensive consoles in the 90's even though I was spoiled with tons of other consoles. It makes me happy to see such a relic like SNK still somehow surviving in 2020.

>FF
Fatal Fury 3
Real Bout
Real Bout 2
Garou
>SS
Samurai Shodown 2
Samurai Shodown 4 (3 also pretty decent)
>TLB
The Last Blade 2
>WH
World Heroes Perfect
>KotM
King of the Monsters 2
>KoF
King of Fighters 98
King of Fighters 2002
King of Fighters 11
King of Fighters 13
King of Fighters 14 (gameplay only)

The Savage Reign games are also pretty underrated and Buriki One pretty fun. This is coming from a NEOGEO expert.

Thanks for the list. I often forget that they made King of the Monsters. War of the Monsters was almost like a spiritual successor game although not made by them.

Also one other question, why didn't other fighting games adapt the two planes to fight on that Fatal Fury did? Seems like a pretty neat idea imo to differentiate from other fighters but then it was just dropped. Was it just too gimmicky for the FGC or something?

>Also one other question, why didn't other fighting games adapt the two planes to fight on that Fatal Fury did?
No one really enjoyed using the two plane system which is why it was eventually dropped even in later Fatal Fury games such as Garou and Wild Ambition. I often find myself forgetting about it whenever I go back and play. It's unique but not necessary. It just became obnoxious after awhile.

Just to add a few other neogeo, even if not exactly made by SNK themselves
>Breakers Revenge
>Karnov's Revenge
>Waku Waku 7
>Double Dragon
Also SVC Chaos if you want a few laughs.

Most of the time I forgot about it, too. But against some enemies and their AI it was an almost necessary tool. I remember using it a lot against RBFFS Billy because of his stupid firewheel.
But if the AI decides to spam it, it really adds another layer of difficulty that's not really necessary. Jin in FF3 for example.

I think in human-vs-human fights most didn't care about it.

Some of these were not developed by SNK so I didn't include them. Kanrov's Revenge for example was a Data East franchise and a sequel to Fighter's History (which is pretty decent) Fighter's History had a crossover game with Fatal Fury which is an interesting piece of obscure gaming history.
>SVC
The only fucking time they included Demitri from Darkstalkers which is why it's better than those Capcom vs SNK games. Fuck Morrigan. Also had Zero from Mega Man which was pretty chad.

Ok, Billy.

3d games incorporated it better. air dash and hops are better movement. 2d games started having explicit anti projextile moves.

Damn you sure showed him
