It does. I haven't tried the PS2 core, but I haven't had any issues with PS1.

I grew up on emulated SNES, Neo-Geo, and Genesis games. The first shit computer I ever built out of parts I found from scrap over the course of several weeks. I had to burn ZSnes and roms onto CD's at school and then take them home because I didn't have internet.
Demons Crest, Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, and all for free. Man those were the days

It's great and necessary for game preservation. There are lots of older games that range from hard to impossible to find physical copies of, not to mention the inevitability of old consoles, controllers, memory cards, etc kicking the bucket eventually.

It's great, I can play games from my childhood, games I missed on old consoles and I can even see form myself how boring Sword and Shield are, without spending 300+ on a Switch and the game.
