I don't have fun with this game but I don't know any other that lets me go around an entire galaxy impregnating thousands on a demented murder spree. I don't give a shit about the plot or the shitty Federation or whatever the fuck it was called, I just like playing as a Scourge of God.

But this is only achievable with mods. Base game has almost zero substance.

Chucklefuck buys office dog, doesn't make living space dog-proof because surprise surprise newborns with itchy teeth coming out like to chew things, most likely chewed the electric blanket cords popping it's heart like a pomegranate seed. They never post the dog again for months until suspiciously it's fully grown and almost an entirely different dogbreed.

It used to be Frackin Universe was the go-to answer but they recently added a research "system", which is a timer that prevents you from advancing the game too fast. Now you have to spend timer points to unlock all the mod's recipes, from farming to furniture. Why the fuck they thought they needed to throw up dozens of artificial walls in a game that's already disjointed and suffers from pacing issues is anyone's guess.

There's never any proof of this. Always just someone screeching about how the puppy is not a terrier and their adult dog is an imposter. Like Chucklefish wouldn't think to buy the same breed if they were attempting a cover-up.
