Yes but the actors facial features also gets picked up with mocap. He still has a giant jaw even with Dante's face modded on.

Vergil is a detriment to the series. He's literally Vegeta, but less interesting, and perhaps the WORST dressed character in videogames. Whenever he acts hard with his gay admiral's long coat with the baby blue tribal shit on it, you can't not laugh at him.

It's more like a tech problem and why more and more games use the actual actors as the 3D models in-game as well.

The closer the 3D model looks to the actor the more accurate the motion capture will be, since body and movement are closely connected.

Vergil himself has 15 minutes of screentime and still manages to take up 2 entire missions and warp the entire story to be about him. Despite him being the final boss, twice, not even making sense in the context of the story or his character.

And that's discounting that V and Urizen, who are also Vergil, are both protagonist and main antagonist in the game. You have to fight Urizen how many times? 4 times?

But drakengard 2's gameplay is objectively much better than drakengard, although the story isn't as good.

DMCV literally has no story of note. It's just partially finished DBZ plotpoints.
It's DMC3/DBZ again, but this time, Vergil/Vegeta feels bad and so he splits himself into Majin Vegeta and a guy from Tumblr using his magic ching chong sword.
After Goku (Dante), Gohan (Nero) fight Majin Vegeta (Urizen), he and Tumblr Vegeta (V) fuse into Super Vegeta (regular Vergil, but he got his groove back), and he's back to take on Goku.
The other Z-Fighters show up, and Gohan goes SSJ2, but there's no Cell or real antagonist to fight, so he fights Super Vegeta instead because DMCV's plot doesn't go anywhere.
Super Vegeta loses, but he learned a lesson (?) and this time both he and Goku go over the waterfall into King Kai's domainnto fight the Tree of Might from the DBZ movie, literally ending off exactly where they started, but I guess Nero went SSJ2, so that's the big plot arc and character development.
