What the fuck were they thinking?
Make it so every weapon you ever use quickly break

Why use shops when you can just grind the hardest test of mights
this. the guardians eventually become complete pushovers and you can farm
They obviously wanted to keep the player on their toes and not rely on one weapon.
Problem is that the inventory system isn't good and when you upgrade your maximum weapon slots it becomes slower to select a new one and you also start hoarding weapons too much.
>doesn't add a single weapon shop
Wasn't necessary. Would've made the game more about grinding rupees to replace your weapons at the local jewsmith. The solution is hyrule castle.
It's just one big hall of good and durable weapons to collect on every full moon. So is every major test of strength shrine. And the colosseum has free elemental weapons too. Not to mention the master sword is technically infinite.
same user, i meant every blood moon.
Because crafting and survival mechanics are the futire. Why design interesting, engaging gameplay when you can just force the player to grind for resoirces and break gameflow by giving retarded, pointless chores in order for them to reset their nagging meter. Can't wait for the next zelda to introduce a sleep and piss meter.
I was running around with like, 12 good weapons after the first 5 hours of the game and I definitely never ran out despite fighting every monster camp I passed. Why does it bother people so much? How else do you make possible to enter hyrule castle early without breaking progression?
>They obviously wanted to keep the player on their toes and not rely on one weapon.
what a retarded meme, all the weapons are functionally the same
it is more like melee weapon ammunition, the most autistic thing ever conceived in zelda
In-universe the art of blacksmithing was lost with the Calamity, there's nobody who could sell you weapons.
>why don't they just sell the respawning items
Why don't you just go collect them for yourself
it's a turd for tendies and game journalists
It's a good idea.
They just ruined it with letting the player upgrade the weapon storage maximum.
Also letting Link fight bare-handed wouldn't hurt since he's not guaranteed to have the master sword.
It's been two years and you still can't pick up a fucking weapon or a god damn stick off the ground? Fuck off home to Rabbit.
it's a shitty idea to have ammo for melee weapons dipstain
No it's not.
They were just too afraid of people hating it so they didn't commit fully to it and it ended being something that doesn't even matter after first few hours because the player is so stocked up on gear.
>find a great weapon
>don’t even want to use it for fear of breaking it
Amazing. For the record I love the game, I just personally think this was a bad decision.
Does the Master Sword never run out of juice once you beat the Sword Trial? I literally just beat it (finally) like an hour ago but never tried it out yet
I would have bought this game if it wasn't for the whole "weapons break after a few swings" shit. I'm not gunna bother with that lol.
I wouldn't care if you hated the game, I just think you're making a big deal out of nothing. You have to think if you need to save that really awesome weapon of a potentially tough fight, great weapons can easily be farmed, and the Great Sword only has a 10 minute time out with a huge durability. I get that durability might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there are methods of dealing with it and it is an intended part of the game play.
Not him, but the fully upgraded master sword still runs out of the juice, but also is the most durable weapon in the game
>get filtered by a game that 7 year olds can beat
>brag about it on Zig Forums
what's your endgame here?
I fucking hate breath of the wild.
I mean the ruppees become almost useless once you pay off for the house in hateno.
The least they could do was have stuff that's actually regularly consumed to be purchaseable from shops.
Food and other stuff is useless in this game since the combat is so piss easy, but the weapons break so very quickly because enemies are just damage sponges.
I dont know how this will be fixed in the sequel, but in my opinion it was a really awful mechanic. Some weapons can never be obtained again after you break all of them. This is just oversight and poor design choice.
I fucking hated TP, the DS entries and SS. I'm thankful for BotW. Good course correction.
Are you fucking kidding? What the fuck was the point of those trials then? I thought it unlocked the full power of the sword (ie never running out of power). That's fucking bullshit man
>noooo the weapons are supposed to break so you cant abuse powerful weapons throughout the entire game
>lol just hoarde and use the powerful weapons in the game
botwfags are a special kind of retarded honestly
This guy cut down more trees and mined more minerals than any axe or pick in history
Just kill an enemy and take their weapon as simple as that stop being faggots
I think they just want an excuse to shit on BotW. I had the same experience as you I had too many weapons that were unused.
Umm sweety, just enable the infinite weapons pack in cemu ;)
People exaggerate it a lot, but durability systems are pretty much impossible to make in a way that feels good, they're always tolerable at best, and annoying as shit at worst.
I think the weapon should have durability but doesn't break. Instead, you should be able to go to a blacksmith and repair it for rupees and materials.
