When it came out, it was all about the graphics, and really the graphical effects in the game, which were top notch. For a third person, it was not a very good game. The 2nd one was better.
I wouldn't go back and play anything from that era, even games that I liked.

Played it for the first time a year ago and I really enjoyed it. The difficulty can sometimes be annoying when the game is unfair but worth playing if you can stand restarting shootouts many times.

Very good, but the increased reliance on cheap spawn campers is really noticeable after a while, and it turns the game into more of a memorization act than an action game.
Still the best story in the franchise, I wasn't a huge fan of Mona coming back and Vladimir turning coat on you in 2.
