I finished the ME trilogy and saw it was on sale for $6. I said fuck it. I played for around 10-20 minutes and got my refund. Jesus Christ almighty, it was like an entirely different game.

Dude no, come on. Mass Effect 3, despite its faults, was way better than Andromeda. People were ready for the new entry in the series afterwards, and what they got was Andromeda, the sequel which prevented any other sequels from ever happening with how irretrievably dreadful it was.

it has a slow start but I really like it - I've 100% it twice and am still salty we'll never get the quarian arc dlc

Peebee fucking sucks, but all of the other characters are pretty good - as you might've guess I'm a Tali simp so having no Quarians fucking hurts the game, but it's not as bad as people make it out
