1995: "pirating will soon be impossible!" >2000: "pirating will soon be impossible!" >2010: "pirating will soon be impossible!" >2020: "pirating will soon be impossible!"
And yet here I am enjoying my pile of free games and saved all the money. I saved so much money that I just ordered my new $3000 rig. Thanks everyone for keeping the companies alive so I can continue to play for free.
have you ever tried streaming games? it's a pile of steaming shit. its doesn't work at all and it will never work with wifi.
Isaiah Green
seriously why aren't all, even singleplayer, games online-only? everyone has internet
Eli Allen
... you are aware that online only games get cracked, too, are you?
Liam Lewis
because online only is fucking retarded and is guaranteed to have problems, internet is never up 100% of the time and there will be surely server downtime for maintenance at least.
Not to mention this would just guarantee every game would eventually die and become unplayable once they stop the servers
Liam Wilson
Imagine the one time your internet is down and you just want to play a game. Wouldn't be fun
Liam White
>he doesn't know about Zig Forums's secret private servers
Adam Hughes
Of course they won't have the entire game be streamed. I hate to post this and maybe give them the idea but they'll probably just stream certain pieces, so it can be an online only game but more extreme.
Wyatt Anderson
Thank you user for turning all PC gaming into console ports and indie shit.
John Johnson
Me too, haha. And my backlog can last me for centuries. I have games from 1999 I still need to play.
So I give no fucks if your shitty consoomer games become online only right this second.
Jordan White
GTA V has online DRM. I had to go a long time without internet and I couldn't play it after 1 week. Of course if I pirated it I wouldn't have had to deal with that.
Jacob Perez
Diablo 3 still has no proper crack
Adam Campbell
Thank God for that.
You can pirate the PS3 version if you really want to play that crap. All PS3s can be hacked, all PS3 games pirated.
Grayson Rivera
Piracy in theory would be incredibly easy to make impossible, but then again so is world poverty, but everyone on earth is an incompetent greedy backstabber so nothing ever happens. Piracy also only happens because people are poor, if games were $10 and the average person made equivalent of 100k a year nobody would bother going through the extra hoop of piracy.
Chase Lee
I pirate because I like to own my media in a world of DRM and digital distribution, I could make a million dollars a year and I would still pirate stop trying to shove your ideologies and politics into everything
Eli Thomas
So you want the people who make your games to become lazy and unmotivated because they are underpaid? You're just a huehue with dumb greedy monkey nigger logic.
Hudson Butler
If everyone made 100k a year and weren't 100k worth of productivity there would be a deficit of products/inflation so that 100k was worth 10k.
Zachary Moore
>become lazy and unmotivated welcome to 10 years ago
James Perez
I would love it if the people that made videogames solely for the money dropped out of the industry entirely so people who made them out of passion were the only ones left sadly we have people like you trying to wage a culture war on the internet who enable DRM and shitty business practices because of "muh devs"
Aiden Gray
cdn.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/2017/09/displacement_study.pdf eat shit tl;dr. half a million euros study commisioned by the EU found piracy to have no negative effects on any artistic/entertainment medium, in some cases actually helping boost the revenue. the study was not publicized due to pressure from copyright holders all over the world
Landon Sanders
Yeah, it worked fucking fine. Sure, if you're a brainlet and you can't afford a 2 dollar ethernet cable, maybe you'd have some issues.
It added about as much latency as a shitty TV.
Leo Ramirez
Isn't that roughly how much boomers made adjusted for inflation? Boomers are pretty lazy and unproductive and it worked well for them.
Bentley Russell
Piracy does hurt sales, maybe not as much as jew corporations want us to believe, I support piracy though because most people are just too damn poor anyways to afford videogames. Also, many developers that make millions or billions barely increase productivity from the days where they were just small indie companies, often times becoming lazier despite raking in billions. I don't mean DRM to prevent piracy, but tracing peoples servers and having the local government shut it down and put the person in jail would be very easy. I would only support those anti-piracy measures though if everyone on earth was relatively well off and didn't live in poverty.
Daniel Gomez
If you were making 10k in 1957 you were in that top 5%. 1 dollar was worth 8,8 times what it is today in 1960 so let's go with 10x to be liberal about the inflation gap towards you and say 10k would be worth 100K in modern day. You'd be in the top 10-20% modern day making 100k, so people are more people making 100K now compared to 10k then.
Jaxon Turner
Why is he dressed like that
Grayson James
he's a butt pirate
Ryder Ross
it would be cool if emulating games that are no longer actively being produced by their creators was legal. won't happen, though. we're going to be drip-fed five games a year at most via virtual console and we're gonna like it
Ryan Russell
>buy games i really like >even buy good eroge that i think needs support >steal games that i think aren't worth the price >try to seed up to at least 1:1 buy where it makes sense and share where u can friends, hope u all have a great time playing vidya whether u pay for it or not
Andrew Barnes
There's many different inflation estimates, I wouldn't trust a jewish boomer economist. I've heard stories of boomers making retarded amounts of money with very little effort. Making $50 (Not adjusted for inflation) an hour just from graduating highschool, or $20 bucks an hour factory job and you don't even have to graduate highschool.
