Based purely on the experience of the Exile's Reach, the new starting area, I'm not encouraged to pay £45 to buy SL and re-sub, even without there being a Steam sale on to better spend the money. Blizzard is a mature developer; they should understand that some of the most impressive parts of a game should be right at the beginning. Yet everything about Exile's Reach pushed me away as a returning player. The starting area for Death Knights is obviously dated, and has been changed to fit the now terrible class-design, but was better simply for the fact that it felt less rail-roaded(even though it technically is). The problem is as always; a lead designer and lead writer who such and should have been fired several times over, but because they haven't they're emboldened to keep doubling-down.
