It was until the time loop. Ruined the game for me.

Sad but true.

It was an interesting idea, but the execution was pretty dreadful at times, as usual with jrpgs

That's basically the wide consensus. Good game, groundhog day portion sucked. They fixed it for Bravely Second.

I swear, every time I see something described as "kino", it's always garbage.

>every character has to spam their catchphrase or character quirk in every conversation
>game tries to push a serious plot that only works because the characters refuse to talk
>every character is evil as all hell until the plot twist, where they practically become different people
>muh loops
>main villain and his henchwoman are just pure evil for no reason despite the game telling you that the world isn't just black and white
>main message of the game contradicts itself by telling you to disobey the very message it's giving you
>the main characters get to the final ending by just letting the henchwoman do whatever, even though they have no knowledge of the main villain due to not having gone through the bad ending route themselves

Anyone who thinks this is better than Bravely Second is delusional.

literally told you to shut up in the OP you autist

All valid criticism, but bravely second is default jrpg white noise

I wanted to play Second for a while but the loop in Default ruined the hype for me. It's worth it?

Yes.
It was the FF game we never got.

More jobs, more balance, more toys, saving loadouts, saving autos. The groundhog day is still sort of there, but it only goes for 1 loop and not everything's the same. I'd say it's worth it.

Everything from the first 10 hours of the game and the last 10 hours of the game was pure fucking KINO. Everything in between was a fucking drag

god i love agnes

Nope. Parts were, I'll give you that, but it was stupid and boring as a whole complete thing.
It's ok to like a bad game for its good facets though.

I agree, easily one of the greatest rpgs of all time

>Chibi shit
>Towns are smaller and shallow compared to the ones in the 4 heroes of light cause they wanted them to feel like walking on top of a drawing of a town instead being a actual 3d town
>Having to repeat the same section over and over was shit

>4 heroes of light
that game was shit though

The repeating stuff dragged a little bit, but I kind of liked it. This game had some truly incredible, special aspects to it, like how the title screen changes once you get near the end, and how you can force the final boss encounter once you figure it out.

But man, the true final boss is probably the best final boss in video games.

I loved it and enjoyed the twist. Also, I liked the sequel despite its rough edges.

If you play Bravely Second, I dare you to take a shot of whiskey every time someone says "gravy."

I got like 20 hours in and got to the first reset and just quit. I even put it on easy mode because I got tired of dying. Every dungeon is the same layout, I just put encounters on 0% til the end then fight the boss.
The story is relatively interesting but once you get it spoiled it takes the whole punch out of the game. And it's just so dull getting to the meat of the story that it's hard to stay motivated. Plus all the grinding you have to do to unlock anything is just painful. It's supposed to be a game you play on the go, why do I have to spend hours and hours unlocking new job skill to get anywhere?

Only thing I mentioned from that game was how it did towns better retard

I actually liked the time loop because it was optional, but also because it provides an extra challenge and story depth to the job masters.

I played on Hard and it was actually hard.

For me it was a 9/10 all around, one of the best turn based RPGs ever made.

not even that though

Why did they keep helping Airy even when they knew she was full of shit?

It was better

I would've said she's full of hot air.

>like BD but get slighly annoyed by the loop
>hey maybe BD2 will be better
>90% reused assets, same map, mostly same classes and samey story
>loop again on top of that
Never touching any of these games ever again

I didn't know I would find tutorials on how to suicide through alcohol poisoning in Zig Forums

>game tries to push a serious plot that only works because the characters refuse to talk
this was so bad it instantly gave the game a ceiling of 4/10

Fell for the "classic rpg" meme and got bored af with all the loops. Hated that game so much I now avoid anything these hack make like BD2 or Octopath. Everything they make is the same shitty formula.

I really liked the rematches with the bosses and more lore related to them but i should have stopped at 2 loops for Christ sake

is it worth it? i have a hacked 3ds so i could just download it for free

It's the best Final Fantasy game in the past 15 years.

There are a bit too many time loops, aside that, yeah. It was good, especially since what you can do with crystals
