Focus on Bloodborne's real flaws
Focus on Bloodborne's real flaws
It's baby's first dark souls, and it shows in the ease and oversaturation of story elements.
The few non-linear areas are bland and difficult to navigate because of their repetitiveness.
Chalice Dungeons are an idea they need to explore more thoroughly
I never see anyone mention how farming blood stones is annoying if you want to upgrade more than one weapon
Too many words.
Stop clarifying positions in fucking image macros, you retarded redditor.
The NPCs were very lacking. Fuck, I can remember more DaS2 NPCS off hand than Bloodborne ones.
Yeah it really should have focused on the massive build variety of Dark Souls like slightly longer straight sword, slightly thicker axe and slightly brighter pew pew lights
Blood gems are a very good idea that could have been implemented better as a way to improve build variety. For instance adding even more elemental options or unique effects on gems would allow for more wacky pvp builds, which you can do in basically every souls game except BB.
It also doesn't help that you have to farm in order to get the good ones, when they seem like a perfect way to give the chalice dungeons more use by putting the strongest gems in chests, instead of on random enemies
chalice dungeons were scarier than any main game shit even upper cathedral ward
The weirdest thing is that the actual Souls games got less grindy over time, but they suddenly decided to turn it up to max in BB.
I usually don't see people glossing over those flaws, but as a whole experience BB is still great, hell, even amazing, and one of the best Souls experiences.
The writing is terrible, setting is boring, combat is bland.
>setting is boring
That's probably gonna be pretty contentious, but I agree. There were definitely highlights, but a lot of the environments feel samey and kinda blend together in my memory in a way that the levels in the other games didn't.
This, I stopped playing when I noticed that everytime Gehrman suggested you go for a walk he told you to "stretch your leg."
I really gotta disagree about the setting and writing. Both are phenominal. Yharnam, Cainhurst, the forests and then the nightmare realms. All super neat. The church, the hunt, the old blood, the hunters. Super rad ideas and summarized and tied up really well. How did it you find it bad?
>They only mention the flaws
Wow, who would have guessed?
Honestly I think the PS4's hardware makes the game look really ugly. if you see on youtube 4k 60fps trailers that people make for Bloodborne it looks so much better
>Talk about the flaws
>NOT THOSE ONES!!
its not a bad game its just mediocre
Besides the framerate. BB's only glaring flaw is its use of RNG. All DaS games feel a lot more samey because a lot of the difference is numbers-based. Switching weapons in BB is a change in lifestyle.
>I began marking on the back of an envelope every time I died to Defiled Amygdala. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous.
you forgot the shitty pvp
Yeah I wish there were more hunter NPCS on top of the random townspeople you save. Alfred and Eileen are good, but one or two more would have really filled out the cast a little more. For instance Djura could have been more than an autist who stays in Old Yharnam if you don't kill him. And a guy allied with Mensis would help to explain their motivations since it's one of the more confusing aspects of the plot
>Bro 30FPS is such a deal killer
And not having, like, three actually good or fun weapons available to you for 60% of the game?
Writing I will not bend on. That guy you chase around gave me a cringe-induced migraine
30FPS is incredibly distracting and makes the whole game play worse. It's a valid criticism, consoles are way too fast for 30FPS to be justifiable now that the difference between it and 60 is an almost imperceptible level of graphical detail.
>t. zero Insight pleb
I find it hard to believe that because of one character whos told to us to have gone mad by trying to communicate with the old gods is a reason to write off an entire game. Micolash is ridiculous sure, I dont jive with him as a character, but he isnt with you throughout the entire game. Hes one boss fight.
>He got filterd by based Micolash
Tying something that is absolutely necessary like healing to a resource is stupid as fuck. The way estus works in DS1 is absolutely perfect. Making it so that if you're ever stuck at any point, you have to stop periodically to grind out blood and then go through at least two more loading screens just to buy some more is fucking dumb.
I got a PS4 pro but all I ever do is play Russian skinner boxes, Star Wars battlefront (1) & transformers devastation on it, should I get bloodborne?
As someone who got a PS4 Pro only to play Bloodborne, I'd say yes. It's no masterpiece but is a pretty good game.
Stop getting hit, bro
The lack of build verity is just a stupid argument. I literally beat the game with a goddamn cane, unironically just git gud.
>I don't know what build variety means, so I'll just spout "git gud" as if that applies somehow.
Fucking retard
Yes, if you cannot beat the game with the weapons it gives you then you are bad at the game. Simple as that.
