On that note, why is he always referred to as Trigger by anyone connected to lore?

It was lost in translation, but in Japan the Casketts gave him the name of Rock Volnutt, while his real name was Rockman Trigger, back when he was an Irregular (Japanese version of Maverick) Hunter. The English localization decided to have the Casketts call him "Megaman Volnutt" and changed his classification from Irregular Hunter to "Purification Unit" for some reason. So now the Casketts were really good at guessing his name.

I have the most nostalgia for 8/Bass, but I'd probably say 9/10 followed by 11.
The only ones I don't really like are 7 and Wily Wars. Wily Wars especially doesn't look as good as the rest.

It's easy to pick up on the fact that Volnutt is just made up and Trigger is real, but what connection does he have to the X series? The lore dump in Legends 2 doesn't seem to fit the idea of him being a Hunter at all.

Megaman 11's is honestly a little cheap looking but underrated

He's an irregular hunter in purpose only, it would seem. There's no "Maverick Hunter HQ" or any organization from what we are told. He's just a unit who perhaps hunts rogue units that would be a risk to elysium and the Master, most likely.

The only thing that is certain is it is far, far into the future of X. Maybe stories of X's greatness made humans of that era model their irregular hunter after the blue armored robot of legend. Or maybe thanks to the retcons of ZX and the conversion of X's remains into armor, some piece of that was used in the construction of Trigger.

I was wrong, apparently Purifier Unit was a translation of "Purging Officer", though the Japanese equivalent to Mavericks is still around, as what "abberants" originally referred to. Purifier Units/Purging Officers were tasked to terminate Irregulars/Mavericks.

What are you on about Its? Its actually one of the few sprites from that era of gaming that isn't hideous. NES mario for example is disgusting

Not the best example. Mario's sprite is pretty clean and easily communicated honestly. The mustache and overalls are very hard to misinterpret. With limitations at the beginning of NES' life, that one is impressively well done.

Not real connection to the x series because legends events occur years after the zx-zxa series

Can reploids actually reproduce with each other? I never understood why there are male and female robots.

The one from the classic games. I like 8's design a lot. 11 is quite good too.
Although lately i am liking Geo a lot too.
