do you listen to a game with the native language and subtitles or do you switch to the language dub?

native language. why do I wanna hear amerifats try to pronounce Japanese names?
Subtitles in video games are almost always just dubtitles that don't translate random ambient lines so I pretty much have to use the dub
I play games with whatever language fits the story best.
Nioh is the only game to my knowledge that did dub and sub well together. Are there any others?
>native language
Yeah, you all claim that, but when the native language happens to be anything but Japanese you cry about it and swap to Japanese anyway.
Native all the way
is this the only funny iteration of this """"""meme""""""
Always, always native language. I cannot fathom anyone using dubs in any form of media.
Does Witcher 1 have ambient subs?
You are a cum guzzling retard.
I remember when Overwatch came out that people here were playing it with Japanese voices. Even that was too autistic for me.
Sub. English VA's tend to be complete dogshit when it comes to games and animu.
While I stick with subs for my anime, with vidya I just stick with whatever default language is handed to me. Tangentially related, Tekken having so many native languages is really cool.
This
Just look at genshin impact
Who uses china dub?
No one
That's a special case though because chinese sounds like nails on a chalkboard
I only play dubbed if the dub is good, otherwise I play with subtitles
Is this a weeb-only phenomenon? How many Japs are like "I can't accept a bunch of rural Montana white American characters in Far Cry 5 speaking in Japanese! English only!"?
That's because Chinese is the most disgusting sounding family of languages. Even polish with its extreme phobia of vowels souns like beautiful music in comparison.
For me it's always between English and Japanese
I've noticed that english VA's have a hard time getting into their character and don't have as much range as Japanese VA's
If it's a Japanese game then I make an effort to play it in Japanese for a number of reasons
That's because Chinese is the auditory equivalent of a septic tank
I have no allegiance towards one or the other, but it's generally a case to case basis for me.
Been playing the Last Remnant, which gives direct options for english or japanese voices in english and the voice acting is pretty consistantly good.
For some reason though, if I read a manga and decide to check out the anime adaptation I won't want to watch it in english. Maybe it's because I already have their voices in my head and I don't want to sully it with the real thing?
Anyway saying 'all dubs are bad' is retarded weeb bullshit pushed by the same west vs east fags every single time
You do fucking realize older titles like Resident evil were english only yes?
The people making the fucking games made sure some of them only had EN voice acting, and old school japanese players even play the newer titles with EN voices.
I put subtitles on all my games. Even the English ones
dub, and if you don't like it, eat my dick
I listen to whatever the native language of that media is even if it takes a while to get used to like Chinese.
english usually, if a game is uber japanese like yakuza i go with japanese
What about Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, and the Souls series, where it's Japanese made but the devs feel English is the default language?
>EN VA's use honorifics
I can't, I can't, I can't.
No I don't
that's really the rule yeah
Genshin impact is the only time I've used anything besides the native language in a game (aside from spanish for one playthrough of DmC:DmC for laughs).
I fucking hate the way Chinese sounds and the Genshin devs shelled out for good JP VAs so I used Japanese audio.
Xiangling's JP voice is adorable.
If ur gonna watch with subs you may as well just read a book lol
polish dubs are fucking incredible, it's one guy who sounds bored out of his mind just reading the script for every character without trying to distinguish mood, intent or who's saying it
American dubs are indistinguishable from the audio the fat girl in your highschool class had to submit for your group project in Biology. It’s almost erotic how intensely dedicated they are to being fucking garbage talentless dogshit. Every American subbing agency should be fucking fired.
That's not the dub user, its the language...
They can't answer things like this because it shattered their narrative that everyone is an uneducated retard like them.
And it's not even about learning the language, they refuse to ever think their point of view is skewed. Even a dog can pick up on emotions through voice without understanding words and they can't, and they tout being uneducated as some sort of badge, same as the people that think they're "Based" for being poor.
*angry weeb noises*
Then English, simple
Lithuanian here. Most of our television is overdubbed. This chart is absolute bogus.
shouts outs to Italy and Germany for making Madoka Magica dubs that are hilariously bad but still fun to listen to
>NMH PS3 rerelease adds japanese dub
>its garbage
whatever was the intention of the artist / creator
But that isn't the native language, and in some MG games and KH games, it isn't the original track either, it's just the dev-preferred track. Oh, I forgot to mention No More Heroes and Bayonetta as well.
did anyone here play witcher 3 in polish?
This user speaks the truth
it's literally the same here
The Indian soaps here are higher production value. They have two voice actors.
see
Nope. Used Chinese dub for Honkai over J*panese
>here
this aint pol homie, i dont see a flag
When I heard the Bayonetta JP dub I felt it was pretty weak. I wasn't a huge NMH fan, so I didn't bother with the ps3 release. Was it like "not as good" or actual shit?
I only play English games so I guess I am a nativist.
depends on the game. the MC in danganronpa sounded retarded in eng so I listened to it in jp, while the MC in dr2 sounded too girly so I switched to to eng.
Always original native language. No matter if games or films
It depends on which language had the most budget. For the vast majority of products everything outside of the language of the developers has a budget of two paperclips and a popsicle stick so the voice actors are garbage.
Imagine anyone listening to the shitshow that is Dragon Ball (Z/Super/GT) in Japanese. Only Freezer is th eonly one that sounds good, English and Spanish are BOTH superior to the JP dub.
I'd rather pour molten metal into my ears than listen to chinks screeching.
What do you think the second postlink is for?
Nowadays, 9/10 times the English dub of anything Japanese is by super untalented people who somehow get gigs because they are all able to do "the anime guy voice" or "the anime girl voice" and don't ever try to actually give any personality to the character because most voice actors are just egotistical retards who can't actually act and their directors can't direct because they don't fucking care since it's an english dub of some anime nobody is going to remember.
You know why Funimation's DBZ did so well? They hired actual fucking actors, not "voice actors" which are just fans that want to be in the industry without doing any of the actual hard jobs. Doubly so, you get the reputation of "being a character" in the fanbase which means you get to soak up a ton of reputation even though you literally just said things into a microphone. I fucking hate voice actors.
t. guy who voice acts as a secondary job because it's more of a hobby I get paid for rather than a real career
t. seething weeb
Even a fat talentless retard like you can dub anime. Stick to the actors actually picked by people who created the product i.e. the native dub, it will almost always be a better pick than some faggot trying to impersonate Sasuke for the hundreth time.
based beaner
>Freezer
Couldn't even get his name right
Thanks for confirming with that projection.
What an unexpected thrill!
Listen to some auditions and you'll see I'm right.
