Elden Ring will never be finished

I'm sure it will be just as good as "The Winds of Winter" :^)

Delays while the big guy plays with bubbles.

im wondering if we'll see any clashes in story direction/plot

they're both giant lorefags and obviously miyazaki isn't going to let take the reins completely, so they'll have to have differing views on some items description of even the ending of the game

probably worst than the Witcher saga

The possibility for a great story brought low by minutiae and pointless details.

a videogame called elden ring
t. a smartass

GRRM is a pretty shit writer (at least in asoiaf with the exception of jaime) but he can write decent lore i suppose, especially if he goes all in on Wolfe ripoff

kino

nOOOOOOOOOHthing

tax talk

considering grrm is involved, never being released

Martin literally just gave most basic outlines and fucked off, his name was there purely for riding on his fame.

I expect to see it actually come out and stop being a myth

He doesn't write lore. I think in one interview he even praised Tolkien and said that people overestimate his (Martin's) writing capabilities.
Basically when Arya was in that exotic city and saw all those different cultures, religions, and stuff that might have happened there, it was shit he wrote on the spot.
Meanwhile if it were Tolkien, you could be 99% sure he would have notes somewhere detailing the whole history of that place, it's peoples and cultures from the very beginning of the universe to the day it happened in the books and sometimes even to the very end of everything.
Basically with Martin it's "what you see, is what you get', but with Tolkien it's only a tip of the iceberg.

it's the same with Wolfe, GRRM was sort of a protege of his for a while and it's clear GRRM was hugely inspired by him, yet the difference is astronomical, wolfe wrote his major work in secret and finished it fairly quickly, GRRM does the "planting seeds" writing technique thing and ends up with a series that is beyond bloated and will never be finished.

Taxes on every transaction.

I expect another Souls-esque Fromsoft/Miyazaki game.

onions, onions and more onions obsessing over this game.
Fromsoft is competent, but the fans are insufferable and the games are nowhere near as good as they claim.
They're 6/10s to 7/10s almost across the board.

nah they're good

His lore is shit because its mostly slapped together and kept vague enough to make it seem interesting. Most of his characters with a few exceptions are bad as well. Where he truly shines is dialogue

Fun gameplay
Great combat that is a bit more that the standart block/roll/parry fest
Cool bosses
Fun locatios to both explore and fight in
Replayability and build/playstyle variety
Interesting and unique gameplay mechanics
New invasion mechanics and souls multiplayer fuckery

I expect it to be full of Gurms typical post moderm edgy nihilistic writing that will surely SuBvERT MuH ExPEcTaTionS™

FINISH THE BOOKS ALREADY YOU FAT FUCK!

To never be released

That he'll never fucking finish asoiaf

A cash-in like DS2 and DS3 to fund a better game that they’ll develop afterwards, likely their PS5 exclusive.

At the very least a proper tax policy mini game, mitsubushi-san.

What in the book material even subverted your expectations? Everything was typical yes even Ned dying assuming you've actually read dark fantasy before and I mean classic dark fantasy not even the new stuff
