It's difficult for people who don't speedrun to understand this, but non-glitch speedrun categories are 1000 times more cancerous and faggy than "anything goes" speedrun categories.
Why? Because you need comity of autists to decide what does and does not count as a glitch if you play limited categories. They also can and will just arbitrarily change the rules if they just have a personal grudge against a strategy or are too lazy to use it and declare it a glitch. And if there's a glitch they like to use, then they'll use some mental gymnastics to claim it's not a glitch.
At least with any% you just try to beat the game fast, no bullshit. And it works perfectly well for pretty much any game, with the only exceptions being a few games that are completely broken to the point that the any% record is a few seconds, like Pokemon Red

I remember watching AGDQ at some point and someone was playing either Oblivion or Skyrim, and it was the most boring shit I'd ever seen in my life, since all they were doing was quick-saving and quick-loading, and starting a new save file to abuse some carry-over glitch, which eventually brought them to the very last thing you do or something. Like, you're not even playing a game at that point. Why even bother?
