It was like a downward spiral of CGI.
The second movie integrated 2d and CGI together fairly well and it fit quite nicely into the overall themes of it all, the uncanny valley was there but it felt appropriate, it fit.
Then they added shitty CGI to the first movie in some special editions.
And now we have a full-blown CGI Netflix show

I pity you. You're like the Sonicfags of anime. You had spotlight a couple times and after that its been downhill for years. I can't even remember once where GiTS was making a slight comeback in recent memory. Don't even mention that one game on Steam that turned off its servers because that game was genuinely horrible. It would've probably survived if it were a Warface clone with polish and more gimmicks which also isn't any good.
