Not really. My mother was really against the NES, plastic toy guns, and pretty much everything boys like. She literally bought me a Barbie doll one year and dressed me up in my sister's swimsuit for a "modelling" show in front of her brothers and sisters. Once she abandoned me and kidnapped my sister my dad bought me an NES. That was awesome. Only problem with dad and vidya was when the SNES came out. He made me give away my NES and all my games to get an SNES. I mean I can't complain because he literally bought me an SNES. I didn't really own any of the popular games.
