Over the past year, I've purchased an LG C9 OLED TV that can output at 4K 120Hz, built a new pc with an overclocked i9, 2tb samsung nvme SSD and other high quality parts. My PC at that time (early this year) cost around $2000 USD. I also bought a one directional 8K HDMI cable and waited outside in line on the release date of the RTX 3090, I managed to get one of the overclocked AIBs. So right now I have a PC that's worth roughly $3700 USD with the 3090 installed, basically one of the most powerful gaming PCs someone could build although of course newer parts are always being released. Connected to my TV, I can run plenty of games in 4K 120FPS. DLSS can really boost the framerate on ray traced games that support it. The thing is, almost my entire motivation for building this PC and buying this TV was Cyberpunk 2077. Of course there are other games, but Cyberpunk is what pushed me over the edge.
Already pre-ordered the game, pre-ordered the 464 page hardcover collector's guide as well. I also booked off an entire week of vacation from work from Dec 10th. I fully intend to submerge my life into this game for a while. Of course after my vacation I'll take breaks from the game to go to work, spend time my family, friends, my girlfriend and so on, but I really expect this game to dominate my life for at the bare minimum, a month. I remembered spazzing the fuck out as a kid when GTA San Andreas came out, I feel like now, as a grown ass man, I am even more excited for Cyberpunk than I was for San Andreas as a young kid. It just really feels like this is the first real "next-generation" game and that pretty much there's going to be "gaming before Cyberpunk" and "gaming after Cyberpunk". I'll be surprised if this game gets less than 97 on Metacritic.
If you're going to do a setup like mine, I also highly recommend getting a bluetooth lapboard keyboard, bluetooth mouse and also bluetooth wireless headphones. Nothing comfier than sitting down on the sofa running games with a mouse and keyboard. If you have a surround sound system connected to your TV that's even better.
Try a backordering site. You might need to wait a while but you will eventually get it.

BASED. Never been more excited for anything in my life honestly. More pumped for this than when I got into my dream school.

I was gonna play on my desktop but now that you mention it I do have a 70 inch plasma that would look awesome to play on sitting on a couch. Fuck 5 days is too much.

Is this the best insult you can think of? I mean I will get laid today because I'm seeing my girlfriend tonight but what does having sex have to do with enjoying a video game?
I'm sorry that it's difficult for you to believe somehow that someone who can build their own PC and enjoy video games can also have a relationship. You should probably improve your perspective on life.
>"gaming before Cyberpunk" and "gaming after Cyberpunk" It's a shallow CRPG where the only real character building you do is changing your appearance, a meaningless feature given that you play in first person and will only ever see yourself in distorted reflections anyway. If your only consideration while playing a game is how expensive the hardware needed to render it is, you're in the wrong hobby. You should be watching The Perfect Storm or Avatar. Cyberpunk is going to be forgotten in 6 months to a year because graphics are all it has, and like Crysis before it, graphics aren't fun. They're set-dressing. They're jewelry. They are, from a design perspective, unimportant. This is going to sound like a weird criticism to levee at someone who spends an inordinate amount of money on niche parts, but you, sir, are a casual. Because your only concern is the most shallow, surface-level qualities of the product.

Haven't been excited for games for years. This one didn't change that either. Sure, I enjoy playing them, but being excited at the choice of giving money to a corporation? No Way.
Imagine thinking some over average shooter with RPG elements will make a mark in the history of videogame or some shit like that lmao

i know it's "cool and contrarian" to hate on new games but i was hyped ever since the release of the 2013 trailer until about a year or two ago. i genuinely think the game looks average at best and that they've made a ton of really mind boggling decisions.

this Why the fuck are people expecting the 2nd coming of jesus from a studio that's only known for shitting out a few mediocre janky action-adventure games?
