What the fuck is the appeal of this game? It's so fucking boring.
What the fuck is the appeal of this game? It's so fucking boring
Graphix for the graphics whores
Robot dinos
As an ugly woman, I can identify with the main character
Really nigga ? It has such an interesting world.
>boring
Don’t play it on journalist mode
Here are my thoughts about HZD which I put down after about 25hrs of gameplay, because it became just too much of a slog (I read the rest of the story online):
- The characters are fucking shallow.
- There is no such thing as character development in this game. Everyone is predetermined, nobody changes.
- The main protagonist is an empty shell, who never makes mistakes and never grows in personality.
- The skill system is trash. Not a single skill presented me with a new gameplay mechanic. They're either stat boosters or something else that's completely uninteresting.
- The cutscenes and face models are uncanny valley tier.
- Using controller is completely shit with most weapons (bow, slinger, tripcasters) while the spear seems to be made with controller in mind; I had to change from controller to KBM halfway through.
- The crafting system is retarded. Why doesn't the game automatically craft potions for me? Why do I have to interrupt my combat experience and go into the crafting page and craft potions mid-fight?
- The modification system is unfulfilling. You just happen to throw some modification at your armor/weapon or not.
- Weapons all look the same. There is nothing to work towards in those regards.
- Villages all look the same. I wouldn't be able to differentiate between any of them, they're that forgettable and uninspired.
(1/2)
- The world feels incredibly static; you can't interact with it.
- You can't enter any buildings, tents or houses besides 'cauldrons'.
- There are 0 points of interests.
- Biome and day/night changes felt completely random or way too fast.
- The climbing system is so lacking, why have one in the first place. You can only climb predetermined ledges, so you have to akwardly jump everywhere else.
- All side-missions are fetch missions (look for X person there; fight Y enemy there).
- The human AI fucking sucks.
- Machine enemy design and variety was very good.
- If you loot an enemy too fast and try to walk forward again by holding W, it doesn't work 5 out of 10 times. You have to repress W. Fucking infuriating.
- Collectibles are useless and gimmicky ala Ubisoft-shit tier.
- The story pacing was way too slow for me due to the repitition in gameplay.
- I was stuck under the world map or in enemies more than 10 times.
Maximum 4/10.

Adept Stormslinger!!!
what's interesting about it
I feel the same, I feel like I should've gotten more invested in the customization to optimize my build, but at the end of the day no matter what you use your strategy in this game is to repeatedly shoot arrows at weak spots, it's so fucking monotenous.
Probably because you're dumb and have the social sensitivity of a rock.
In this game evil white men ruined the planet for everyone but a brave woman and her team of diverse scientists salvaged some of it. Now humanity gets a new beginning in a world where everyone is equal. No more "minorities", every settlement has a good mix of every race living together in harmony, no more traditionally feminine or masculine roles because women are just as often leaders, hunters or warriors and do it just as well or even better. And no, they don't wear degrading or skimpy clothing for the male gaze either. It sets a new standard for badass protagonists.
It's a profoundly beautiful game and one the video game industry desperately needed.
After every game of 2018 and 2019 were open world games, just having a world with buildings and nature doesn't fucking do it anymore. Sure, some of it is vaguely interesting, but abandoned civilizations have been done over and over again. The gameplay is just kinda boring so the open world is boring too. This is one of the few games that actually put me to sleep
I had fun with the combat and exploration, the robot designs were pretty cool as well but the story didn’t do much for me or the characters.
>What the fuck is the appeal of this game? It's so fucking boring.
I thought the settings was full of cool ideas (albeit mostly very poorly executed), and the combat mechanics focusing on targeting specific parts of enemies and use of specific status weapons were really damn cool at times, though also having a lot more potential than praxis.
Ultimately though, none of this was enough for me to keep my interest for more than half of the game.
I did feel like Horizon was a game with a very, very confused direction, full of potentially great stuff weirdly hampered by what I assume was concessions made to make it more marketable to AAA markets. I think it must have started as a buch of really fucking cool ideas that gradually draw attention (deservedly so), but with the realization of potential came budget bloat, and with it, fear of deviating from the AAA standards, the ultimately burried what was good about at it to begin with.
Part of me wishes that the studio pulls an Eternal on us with the sequel, but in reality, I doubt it.
AAA open world
best part of this game is the machine combat
everything else is so fucking mediocre
Hey, pretty spot on. I dropped it after 15 hours or so for the same reasons mostly.
>- If you loot an enemy too fast and try to walk forward again by holding W, it doesn't work 5 out of 10 times. You have to repress W. Fucking infuriating.
This was the biggest reason I dropped it, in my case. I was going crazy.
Sonygros self-deluded themselves its good because its an exclusive.
Shitty characters.
Fantastic lore.
Gameplay depends on difficulty setting. I found it way more enjoyable when I cranked it up. Combat against non robot enemies is shit tho.
congrats on having the Zig Forums.org/v/-approved opinion!
>great world
>great story
>mech dinos
>gameplay that appeals to AC, Zelda and Witcher fans
you got be stupid to ask such a question
sorry man but op knows that everyone here hates horizon so he pretended to independently arrive at the conclusion that the game is bad/boring so that he would fit in!
>great story
this was one of the first games i bought after i got a used ps4 in 2017 and i was expecting some magical experience based on the amount of shilling for this game and it was so boring i played like 2 hours and haven't touched it again since.
>No skimpy or degrading clothing
Eh give it a few months. Model/texture modding is making progress. Once that's done I might finally play the game.
>dude i dropped the game after 10 minutes and I can say the story was bad xD
>great world
>great story
No and NOOOOOOOO, fucking cease and desist. The settings has some neat ideas, but is absolutely not thought through, and the story itself is pure fucking garbage.
I mean the world is pretty as long as you don't think too hard about it, and the gameplay can be fun when you are low-level fighting mid-level robot enemies, but my god the story, the characters, and the actual world-building are abysmal.
Is this your idea of an argument?
You've got to be really fucking stupid to post this.
So this is the power of PC gaming
Gameplay is fun. story is standard videogame story. could ditch the stealth sections, otherwise it's pretty fun
Yes, we can differentiate good from bad.
better than posting a green text without any argument, zoomer
