Its actuall good game that just needs
1) more polish
2) more content
It has a great benefit over say x-com in fact, that all troops you can hire are actually unique - kinda like Jagged Alliance. Mean, you litterally can see who it is looking at thier model and each based on real person and has a story you can look up.
The downside atm is - too easy combat, not enougth unique stuff to characterize different bosses (since even if you play Irish, you still can hire mexican gang membners).
Will be great after they flesh out the game with DLCs adding Chinatown, port area, more illegal activities types.

The game would be a lot more better if they introduce a RTS/STG mode starting at mid-game where you just RTS your hundreds of stationary guards to raid shit for you instead of raid buildings one by fucking one with your same old 5 gangster crew like you've been doing for the last 6 hours

There is RTS elements. You can see enemy troops moving on the map and activities they do. Just spot them on the map, run to them and hit CTRL to start fights. Your guards, if in vicinity also participate in those (also controlled by AI)

What I'm saying is the game need some kind of progression and fast track mechanics. Game is fine at the beginning but raiding properties becomes boring quick, and it doesn't make sense how a mafia boss of hundreds of properties and thousands of grunts is still raiding local diners or empty warehouses by himself.
