I tried to get into it I really tried. The combat is cool and all but what the fuck is up with the level design. There's barely any buildings or NPC's you can interact with. No secret areas, No complex side quests or characters. All the characters feel copy pasted besides in the HQ. The only RPG aspect of the same is your character stats and that's it. I feel the game could of benefited from a better inventory and a looting system. You have all these high powered weapons at your disposal at the start with infinite ammo, you never have to earn them. It's 95% an action fps and 5% rpg. Where are all the locations, the buildings you can go into to see the people hiding from the looters, where is the content.

Leglet
no I upgraded my cyber legs and I was fast, the maps are just empty and bare, lack of quests, nothing to do but just shoot things. The devs should've focused more on rpg aspects rather than making it a full actionfps
The level designer was literally, unironically insane. They ended up taking the levels he made and removing brushes until they wouldn't crash the game anymore. Some of the smaller levels have secret areas, but mostly there's just no room for them.
The only thing I liked about this game was the mobility. Goddamn I loved running and jumping on level 9 cyberlegs (never found the tech for lv 10 upgrade).
What games can I play that give you the same feeling of hyper mobility, Zig Forums?
As much as I love the game it's mostly up to the player to make it enjoyable. I happen to like running around sewers at 30 mph and goomba stomping heroin addicts, but I fell in love with the atmosphere and then built my enjoyment around that. Not everyone can do that though, some people (understandably) need content to enjoy a game. It's one of those "you're in or you're out" type deals. If you don't like it there's not much anyone can say that will suddenly change your mind.
Titanfall2
Tribes, nu DOOM. Unironically League of Legends with the right build.
Yes, it is trash, maps are empty and the enemies are just some basic source engine AI that come at you in lines. (something they could not really improve in deathwing either sadly.)
The whole game feels like a messy source mod. But it is fun to fuck around once or twice, especially because you can play it with friends.
Thinking about it, it would have been a really good game with better maps and enemies(especially enemy placement), because the rest, the guns etc are good.
I thought this was Zig Forums's game? I only ever see it talked positively about on here
Older Zig Forums, not zoomer Zig Forums.
Already played, pretty based game in spite of the shortness.
I'll give Doom a try, cheers.
>They ended up taking the levels he made and removing brushes until they wouldn't crash the game anymore
sounds like Hammer alright.
You can get to some fast speeds in Payday2
The main thing I think they fucked up on beyond the big and empty maps is just the rpg aspect. The guns are just given to you, there is no grind really, you don't feel like you progress much because once you get the revolver that's basically what you use the whole game. They should of named brouzouf experience and then added in a secondary currency that you can keep to buy weapons and cybernetics. Maybe have like a trader at the HQ where you can sell weapons for money, kind of like stalker. The combat is really good and I love it but they just completely forgot about the other half of the game. There's no depth to it
>No secret areas,
I don't mind the "rpg aspects". For me it is fine to shoot shit with whatever in a source engine game. So I am glad that stuff is easily given to me.
For me the retard AI and bad map design is worse.
>Boot up the game for the first time
>Kinda cool but didn't quite catch me
>Several months pass by
>Decide to give it a second chance
>Somehow it feels much better now
>Have blast playing
>Reach the Alien Defense level
>Get killed and have to restart
>"Aww shucks, well it's late now, I'll try again tomorrow"
>Boot up again the next morning
>Progress wasn't saved at all, back to the first mission with lvl 1
And that's how I was filtered by this game
Don't bother with nudoom, pick up nu- Shadow Warrior 2 instead, it's faster.
Also Super Cloudbuilt. Mirror's Edge feels pretty good when you master the side-jump speed boost, slows down a bit too often otherwise.
Dude you gotta realize that this was made by a very small group of some very dedicated Frogs. If you're standard for this game is Deathwing you have to remember that DW was made AFTER they got a major publisher to back them up. When they made EYE they were doing it out of desire, not an expectance or commercial success. The reason the game feels like it's missing content is because it's an indie game made by (then) amateurs, and were they to remake it EYE with the resources they had with now it would probably blow people's minds. Imagine this game fully realized, that's why it has such a rabid fan base.
You are asking way too many questions for a simple game, just kill jians and have fun.
If they remade the game with detail, like buildings and actual side quests with multiple outcomes, armor and inventory system with loot I think it would be a better value. For example you could buy better armor suits and customize the design of your armor, kind of like fo4 power armor. Apart from the loot and armor, I think the story and quests needs a lot of work, especially with more detailed factions. The looters need way more work in their design, the federation enemies are ok though.
I heard from an user who heard from a guy (lol) that apparently Streum On said that were they to make a sequel, it would be similar to the SWAT games; highly tactical, with lots of loadout options.
EYE is not fallout, is a horde shooter where you upgrade stats, and it's wrapped around religious jargon.
Not even the devs care about E.Y.E., only a handful of people who really liked the setting and gameplay, devs posted pic related in their twitter.
>GUILT
>GUILT
>GUILT
I specifically requested the opposite of this
alot of reviewers though make it out to be an RPG when it's really not that and moreso an action fps. It's nowhere near the RPG aspects that fallout series or underrail has which I was disappointed by. It's cool you can moonjump and crush enemies with cars but that's all you can do in the game.
>ITS MEANT TO BE TRASH BRO TRUST ME
>bunch of anons find enjoyment in discounted 1$ source game
>Build a bit of a cult following around the mechanics, weird dialogue and esoteric story
>Anons have fun speculating about said story and just screwing around in multiplayer
>Anons have occasional threads where OC is made, because its fun
>Certain individual makes a video about it and oversells it
>Newfags who have never played a source mod in their live go in with expectations that its some AA title that didn't pan out
>"Hurr durr game bad why anons like it"
because some of us made good memories in those lobbies and threads.
The real E.Y.E. was the OC we made along the way
everything has to be ruined when it gets popular, it's just the way of things
The game is a great value at 1$, it's a terrible value at 10$ which is where it's currently at. It's great for what it is as an action fps, but it's not anything beyond that and nowhere near a full rpg in the slightest.
I like ziplining around as Scout in DRG.
>were they to remake it EYE with the resources they had with now it would probably blow people's minds
yeah, sure :)
Amen
