Why did Nintendo choose Illumination to make the Mario movie? Don't they know it's the worst animation company out there? Not one of their movies are good, and I doubt Mario will be too.

Still Better than Pixar post-Toy Story 3
Despicable Me is good
why post the exact same thread, literally word for word, from yesterday?
Paid shills?
It was honestly meh, the first movie at least. Its watchable but still really really average. Its popularity though makes no fucking sense, I don't even think IE understands it.
Blue Sky is worse
mario is shit anyways
Because DreamWorks is also ass and pixar is pozzed and in decline.
Robots at least have soul
>there are anons who unironically have nostalgia for Illumination and Minions
Zoomers deserve death
>Why did Nintendo choose Illumination to make the Mario movie
Nintendo like minimalist clean movies like the Pikmin shorts and wanted the same treatment for Mario.
Also Illumination specialise in family friendly movies, something disappearing from most studios resumes
talk shit about rio again i DARE you
Their movies are soulless, they will fill Mario with shitty pop-culture references, celebity VAs and toilet humor.
>Blue Sky is worse
I wonder how the tender process went about, did Nintendo reach out to animators or did Illumination reach out, did Nintendo have a "Expressions of Interest" situation for their IPs? I find it all very interesting.
Everything they do is soulless and lacks creativity, but they are masterful at churning out high quality animation. Maybe Nintendo just wanted the cheapest option that still looks good?
Nintendo is doing their theme park in Universal Studios Park in Japan, so they go for the usual Universal Studios animation company nowdays, Illumination.
Because of this maybe they a good deal saving money both companies, you know Nintendo are more jews than jews themselves about the money and profit
>Their movies are soulless
I did not say they were not soulless.
I said they are clean and minimalist.
The Pikmin shorts were soulful because Miyamoto directed them. You would never capture 1/10th the soul from a Californian film company.
>Nintendo is doing their theme park in Universal Studios Park in Japan, so they go for the usual Universal Studios animation company nowdays, Illumination
I wonder how deep this partnership ran, was it a package deal or did opportunities arrises as things were being planned out. I find it very interesting.
True, Illumation make their movies with the least money as possible. Look up their budget for their movies, not a single one is over 80$ milllion.
I really wish this was a full length Pikmin movie directed by Miyamoto instead.
I cannot for the life of me imagine a situation where this movie is decent.
The Peanuts Movie was good
Today, I remind them.
We lost this

There is only one Mario movie.
Literally kys
Reminder that the consumers were the REAL villains of the Lorax.
The Once-ler and O'Hare are scape goats for the actual bad guys.
This is worse, what were they thinking?

swing your arms from side to side
>I WON'T STOP NIGGERING
But yeah, how the fuck did we loose that to "how bad can I be"?
Too dark and serious
Wasn't there some kind of controversy with the first Rio moive? I never saw either movies but I noticed they seem to only play the 2nd movie on tv on different networks all the time.
I don’t understand how they can make all that other shit and be the same studio to make something as soulful as the Peanuts movie.
The Peanuts movie was based aside from those shitty 2010s pop music garbage moments, thank fuck I skipped those.
Huh why ?
